I may just be rationalizing but I am not convinced Chara's game is suited to the Blues style of play. They all get down below the face off circle. Sometimes nobody is higher than the face off circle. So they end up skating in short jab steps and tight circles....fast acting muscle skating. Chara ends up looking even slower than usual as they have taken four steps before Chara takes one. He goes to where the play just was and that long stick really does not come into play as much.

Jung, I think you may have hit on why it seems Chara is late a lot. Not just age but his size actually works against him. Doesn't matter now, it seems, but good assessment. What was Gretazky's comment long ago, " I don't go where the puck is, I go to where it is going to be"

I watched YAZ play for years and I never saw him smile during a game. Of course, YAZ wasn't being paid millions of dollars. That might have made him smile.

It’s a crime that he never won a WS. His post season numbers speak for themselves.

Nope....doubt it

JDM just can't hit it out and be done anymore, LOL. He comes through in ways Beni never will come close to. Beni rolls over so many ground balls to the right side, but with Mookie on second, no outs, he flies out to center.

A lot of players tried to “be where the puck was going to be”. But Wayne was far and away the best at it. The guy had a nose for that like he was half wolf.

The other game day thread was “closed”??

Game is tied... let’s GO!

How did that happen. JBay, the mod was on it too

Gretzky was living proof that women could play in the NHL.

There is a close thread "box" at the end of posts, and when I post on my phone I sometimes accidentally hit it. My bad.

It’s ok... the Skanks lost tonight so we forgive you!

Red Sox put together some really good at bats. The triple by JDM, Devers drawing a walk rather than swing outside the zone, Xanders flying to right was a textbook way to bring a run in. Holt then doubled. Even Chavis lineout was a good attempt. Love to see the Sox put together a string of good AB's like those.

Hehe.. I remember when he left to play in NY and Ranger fans were saying “What’s wrong with Mark Messier” because Wayne was just better, especially in the playoffs. Rangers had. Window there from 96-98.
