Xander and Devers have been bright spots this season

German with a shutdown inning. He seems to have found his groove. His pitch count is high, so we are probably gonna need 4 from the pen, but he looks locked in. He had trouble with the zone initially, but now he is rolling

 

Where the heck did that one cross the zone. Actually never even reached the plate before X achieved the Red Sox nirvana---the Solo HR. Solo Cup company should adopt this team

They’ve still been good, but not the super elite players they were last year.

 

Aside form Vaz, Xander and Devers, everyone has underachieved offensively

The announcers are talking about how the return of Judge and Stanton could be rocky and the headline could be "Judge and Stanton ruin the Yankees". Look at who they will replace. Judge will replace Frazier/Maybin. Frazier has been great, but the upgrade is massive there with Judge and the styles of each player are similar (power and K guys). Stanton replaces Morales. Morales cannot run or hit. The only guy who could shoe horn his way into a good spot is Didi, but Didi could be used as a spell kind of guy. You can rotate your infield around and get time off.

 

Game 1- Voit 1B, Lemahieu 2B, Torres SS, Urshela 3B, Didi rest

Game 2- Lemahieu 1B, Torres 2B, Gregorius SS, Urshela 3B, Voit rest

Game 3- Voit 1B, Torres 2B, Gregorius SS, Lemahieu 3B, Urshela rest

Game 4- Voit 1B, Torres 2B, Gregorius SS, Urshela 3B, Lemahieu rest

 

This allows everyone to stay fresh, although a rhythm might be tough to keep.

 

Gee Whiz, maybe if Boston is lucky and polite about asking, we can pick up your scrubs when you are finished with them.

Yes effort and hopefully Cora won’t pulled the dumb stuff he pulled in spring training. This team came out flat and uninspired in spring training.

Boone pulls German for Green. Not sure I like this move here. Green with his straight fastball and Beni being a dead red hitter. I would have kept German in for one more batter.
