Boy we needed this one. Bats come through.

Good win but at this point they need a lot of those. Hopefully they can bring it tomorrow.

A certainly necessary and welcome win. Notice what happens when Betts hits. JDM always hits, and Mitch Moreland can get you home from time to time. Also Vaz in the lower part of the lineup makes a huge difference when he hits.

It wasn’t an easy one by any means but it is still a win. I miss those 5+ R diff wins LOL!

Betts is hitting again. Vazquez has 4 HRs or something. Moreland is still on fire. The rotation looks better. The BP has been unsurprisingly above average. Etc.

These are probably symptoms that the team is turning the ship right to north.

Just finished watching the SOX beat Tampa in a game I recorded earlier so that I could watch the BRUINS lose. A tale of two baseball teams; one team is good, but not as good as their won/lost record. The other team, not so good, but not as bad as their won/lost record.

If the SOX would bat JBJ 9th in the order, they would resemble a NL team, although I know there are pitchers in the NL who can hit better than JBJ. It's too bad Chaviz can't play CF. However, I'd like to see him get a shot at either 2nd or 3rd base, although I understand his glove work isn't great. But, then, neither is Dever's or Nunez's.

They deserve to lose though. Who didn’t see that goal coming? They have been awful sin the start of the game. Haven’t capitalized on their chances. Now they have to win in Toronto. Good luck with that. Playoff disappointments the last couple of years.

Interesting that 2 of the 3 teams with the most points during the regular season have already been eliminated. There's a very good chance that by Sunday night all 3 will have been eliminated.

JD, the best hitter on the SOX, gets more at bats hitting 1st. Simple math.

This would actually make more sense than batting JD 3rd.

This is one of the few games when Vaz and Erod have actually helped each other. They had to find something ERod could throw right in the first inning. Found the two-seam and stuck with it. Found the Cutter next and at least had two pitches ERod could throw. Eventually ERod was able to throw the four seam which he was trying to throw at the start of the game and couldn't. That is actually a pretty good job of managing plan B.

Vaz is a very good defensive catcher in his own right.

Best moment of last night's game - Mookie's fist pump as he was rounding the bases after his homerun.

It seems like such a little thing, but it was telling enough that it really stuck out to me, and a couple of beat writers also mentioned it after the game.

He really needed that, not just for himself, but for the team. Tomase also pointed out that it was the first time in a long time that he has seen Mookie grinning from ear to ear in the dugout.

Good stuff.
