If this team flames out i am blaming Cora. Don’t like the way he’s handling sale. They’re pampering him a little too much.

 

Sale had a month off, give or take. You cannot just toss him out there and ask him to throw 80 pitches. We are 10 games up; there is no need to risk his career. I think that Cora is approaching this logically.

Sadly Cora allow a guy to soiled himself there. After the bomb and another HBP it was time to save some of his dignity and pull his damn ass. Nope let him load up the bases.

Doubly stupid...it looked like Beni was trying to protect his hand on that. I can only assume that his foot would have been less exposed to injury.

You ever heard of rust? Having that capability physically to go deep into game. I don’t like it and it might blow up on their faces.

Johnson doing a good job. Don't know why he didn't start. I'm sure Cora had his reasons. Actually, I'm hardly ever sure of Cora's reasonings.

 

Probably because his role going forward (at least for this season) will be out of the pen, and Cora needs to find out if a) Johnson can adapt to that role better than he showed earlier this year and B) does he adapt well enough to be on the postseason roster.

The elephant in the room is the SOX offense. Or lack of same. They'd better figure it out before the end of September or it will be a short October.

 

The Sox average 5.37 RPG, more than any other team in the league. They will likely not average that in the playoffs because the pitching they face will be much better. But they will score enough. The question is the bullpen. Its been horrible.
