When we get up 5 to 2 with 2 men on base and 2 outs it isw clear that you want to take your best shot of not giving up any more. So, in my view the best shot who is not our closer is Brasier. Cora knows he doesn't want to match BP's with Houston. Putting in Henbree who has been pretty unreliable is not the thing to do and then Johnson on top was also not a good idea. We got a beak on Altuve not scoring or it would be over. Don't understand the relief pitching moves nor to some degree the pinch hitting choices.

He was out-managed by Hinge. Again. Even if the SOX are equal to Houston in offense, they are not equal in starting pitching, defense and definitely their BP is much better than the SOX. The question of the ages is how do the SOX have a better record than Houston? I'm guessing it's because of all the injuries the Ass-tros had during the season to their everyday players. If the SOX don't score in the bottom of the 9th, this one is ovah.

The difference between a good manager and a poor one is the quality of his bullpen. Our bullpen stinks. Houston's is pretty darn good.

Injuries and the division the Astros play in vs the division we play in. 19 games each with the Rays, Jays and O's is heavenly.

Cora has done a fine job as a rookie manager , leading his team to the best record in baseball. Honestly , the knee jerk reactions by game thread posters are way off base . It is so easy to hate and so easy to second guess and criticize. This is a terrific game between the best teams in the business. Why not enjoy it ?

You really can't blame Cora for this sludge pen. That is on DD. But Cora needs to get real about the pen we have and how much stress he is going to have to put on the rotation to give these pen guys clean innings.

Cora should take Gonzales to dinner too. That was ugly. Shouldn't have let the ball drop and shouldn't have tried to play it bare handed once he let it drop. The home plate ump deserves a free meal too.
