Rodriguez stayed under 100 pitches but was getting pounded by end of the 5th. B&B saved his slim 2-0 lead. Deceptive start where the line looks good but pretty rough in terms of quality.

Based on the fact that Moreland was picked to play 1st at the ASG, and I'm glad he was, tells me that 1st base is a very weak position throughout the league this year.

That Bogey wasn't picked tells me that SS is a very strong position throughout the league.

Something has gotten to XB these last few days. He has absolutely sparkled and has in many ways carried the team. He might have decided that he was going to drive to the ASB as we have certainly seen players do that before.

Devers is just a bad player right now....bad defensively and no concept of the strike zone. Just a guy with potential. Hope he pans out.

When you think about it, when Holt does not play the infield is XB and pray that all the balls go his way. He has taken that burden completely in stride. That is a heck of a burden when he gets to look right and sees the kid and looks left and sees nunny.

Why are the Sox hitters treating us to this snooze fest. Can't count on the shutout holding up. Hembree is the new bailout guy for the 5+ inning starters and is getting it done. Have to file away the fact that Rodriguez is a #4 and probably gives us what he has, just not much sign of professional growth. Finally into the Ranger pen, with Bogie up and Pearce on base

Just cannot use Hembree as much as you think you want to. He needs more time between stints. Start using him everyday for even two days running and body parts start falling off. Then he also sometimes comes out of the pen short arming the ball and he is just awful when he does that.

Sometimes one has to give credit to the opposing pitcher. Minor has good stuff. I'm sure the SOX wouldn't mind having him.
