Nice win, nice series. Best the Yankees can do is stay 1 back. Sox retain best record in MLB more than halfway thru the season. Porcello and ERod both looking good vs. the Nats. But especially ERod.

I agree about the game Vaz called today. But I think it was the early game he called. E-rod got going with the slider and FB and almost immediately worked in the Change which is the better secondary pitch for E-rod. But on the days when E-rod will not throw the Change at all or conversely will not throw the slider at all I don't really think you can put that on the Catcher. When E-rod gets off a pitch on a particular day he is off of it and no catcher seems to be able to get him back on it. He just does not have enough to go out there with a FB, a Cutter and either a Change or a Slider. He can drop of the Cutter on some days successfully. But needs to be able to throw FB, Change, Slider to succeed.
