That was a bush league move by Eaton. He's in the batters box and Rick is in his motion and he asks for time. Not surprised he got a walk out of that. But he should not have been granted time.

If we put together a good inning, we could get Scherzer out of the game and get into the pig pen.

The 2d inning was just incredibly lucky--both the double by Porcello and loading the bases. Since then the lineup has done OK building Sherzer's pitch count, but have been horrible getting hits.

The hero of this game beyond question is Porcello even though he has made some mistakes. And it helps that the Nats ain't hitting much. If Porcello can get thru the 5th unscathed, Cora needs to have that bullpen ready. I think Porcello can go 6 or 7, but can ain't will.

The s***** umps have been doing that a lot this year.

I also see that POM is getting shelled in PAW.

Nothing wrong with that. Pom should never be allowed back unless and until he develops a good changeup, which he apparently is determined not to do. He loves his big old knuckle curve and his s***** fastball, and that's about it. On top of that he takes forever between pitches and gives every sign he is terrified of making the next pitch.

Beside Sale, nobody has a breaking pitch worth anything.

About right. Except Wright, of course. That knuckler is mostly unhittable.

Sounds like you're describing E-rod, also.

Second time I have seen Sandy do that lately. Stupid both times. This time particularly so because Sandy has been swinging it pretty good against RH pitchers. A wasted AB.

I was about to say that Rick's pitches in the 5th were getting high in the zone, but he beat me to it by serving up a meatball. P.S. He is getting no support in terms of runs from any of his hitters.

His two seam has saved him tonight. I like it when that pitch is working for him because it has always been his bread and butter.

This game in regards to the SOX reminds me of Little League, where the pitcher was also the best hitter.

I also like how Rick has stiffened after a fail with a hitter unlike SOME PITCHERS I KNOW!!!!!!
