Come and be prepared to play

They've lost 4 straight including Sunday's game to us and 3 at Yankee Stadium. However, their lefty LeBlanc shut us down for 7.2 innings on Saturday. Wright was almost as good against them, and the final was 1-0.

I think Wright will again be effective unless it rains. I don't think LeBlanc can repeat. We have a good lineup, certainly better than Seattle's. I will say, however, that LeBlanc was pretty darn good at keeping the ball down. I'm not so sure that is repeatable because of the small margin of error. Wright, meanwhile, has the whole strike zone to work with.

It's been mentioned that it might be a good idea to bring Lin up to play 2nd. I agree. However, who do the SOX move to open a spot for him?

Sox are carrying 13 pitchers right now, one more than every other MLB team. Send one down.

I have thought we have been pitcher heavy from day 1 of the season. I think its been 13 for the entire season. Just too many especially when the last everyday player on your bench is Swihart.

1. Mookie Betts ® RF

2. Andrew Benintendi (L) CF

3. J.D. Martinez ® LF

4. Mitch Moreland (L) 1B

5. Xander Bogaerts ® SS

6. Rafael Devers (L) 3B

7. Brock Holt (L) 2B

8. Christian Vazquez ® C

9. Blake Swihart (S) DH

And who do I find at the bottom of the order....Swihart. At least he will be batting RHed. His LH swing has become something that actually hurts to look at. So there is that.

The hitters in the No. 9 holes have remarkably similar lines this season:

Blake Swihart 74 PA, .147/.216/.176/.393, OPS+ 8

Andrew Romine 68 PA, .148/.212/.164/.376, , OPS+ 8

What are the chances a June game would feature two starters with those dismal numbers?

You could see it on the slow-mo. That was way too much rotation for a knuckleball to Cruz which is why it did nothing. The HR after it...same story. Too much rotation.

Wright is not effective tonight.

Wrights knuckle doing nothing and LeBlanc is just dead in the middle of the plate with nothing FB's. XB might bring us all the way back right here.
