Why did they take Price out after 86 pitches?

Because he sucks, just like everyone else on this team.

Oh your just a kid, OK.

Well I don't know if I would call myself a kid, but yeah. Sort of

I love Betts, but if I was asked who the MVP of the SOX is so far this season, I'd say JD. Maybe MVP of the league, also.

Note: Betts being out the last two weeks makes my choice a little easier.

Vaz & JBJ 3 for 7 with an HR.

Swihart is 2 for his last 21.

I wonder if SF would take Swihart for Pablo (currently at .787).

Just kidding!

Nunez -0.8 WAR

Vazquez -0.8 WAR

Swihart -0.4 WAR

Devers -0.2 WAR

Being slightly less hot garbage than the starters will not win him a role. He has to win a role. he isn't going to back into one by sucking less.

If I was gonna hire a guy to play a baseball manager in a movie, I'd hire the manager of the WS.

All he needs is the mustache. To this day I automatically picture Lou Brown from Major League whenever anyone says "MLB Manager". Jim Leyland is a good meter stick to go by too.

I'll pretend I know what you're talking about because I feel like you would ban me if I said I haven't seen Major League. That generational gap strikes again

I think of the pen guys Barnes is the happy surprise. Kelly has been pitching with confidence for a while now. Barnes, not so much until recently.

In an odd way the Carson Smith injury might really have helped Barnes as he has been pitching like he feels more settled in his role since Smith went down.

Do the skanks ever lose? They beat up on anybody. We should have swept this series. They need to be more consistent if they want a chance at least in winning the division. Right now I just see a difference in their lineup being better than ours. They get some decent pitching as well.

If Barnes is so settled in, didn't he allow a hit and a walk in a tight game 8th inning. Granted, He did not allow a run so he did his job but this guy is always one long fly from a mess. Not saying dump him, but he's not a lights out reliever.

The FOX crew doing the pregame for the Yankees game actually took our lineup over theirs. But, all season long, I've sat in bewilderment. I don't think we're that good, at least not as good as the Yankees. I don't expect to win the division, which really sucks because of the Wild Card game. We could still easily win 100 and have a play in game.

Starting the 5-9 hitting watch, those guys today (actually 7 players ) went 4 for 19, but the highlight and very welcome was JBJr's HR, proving the old squirrel/acorn story. JBJr had the only rbi in the bunch and only run scored courtesy of his dinger. Today's lineup featured 3 of the 5-9's hitting below .200 at the beginning of the game. Sure glad Mookie sounds a little better since he will cause one of these dudes to take a seat when he returns. When he departed his BA was at least double one of them.

The SOX FO must really hate Rudney.

I think they do, but the real issue is that if they pick him back up on the roster, he adds considerably to the luxury tax.

Plus, once we add him, there's no getting him off the luxury tax budget again.

We'd go over the $40M penalty this year, and the penalties are rather stiff.

He's stuck in purgatory. There's no way around it.
