Nunez looks solid at 3B

Nunez is way better at 3rd than 2nd. He is really an emergency 2nd baseman. But he is a legit backup 3rd baseman.

Joe Kelly is on a roll right now.

He's definitely hitting his stride!

I really like him as a 7th / 8th inning guy!

Great job by Wright today. His knuckler has been good. Bring him out for the 8th?

And then bring him out to start after this.

Beni in may...

21 games, 85 ab's, 26 hits, 14 runs, 15 rbi's, 4 HR, 10 BB's, 3SB, .306 avg., .371 OBP, .529 SLG, .901 OPS

Smokin!

Would have won player of the week at least once, but for Beni & JDM

Pedroia continues his Oh for the season streak. How long can we carry this guy ? (not serious) The Sox just got a lot better with yesterday's moves. More Moreland at first, give Devers a chance to find himself again rotating Nunez/Holt and him at 3rd base, That's a better defensive infield for sure.

Kelly's always had a great arm. It was his head that seemed to be the problem for him. It appears his head is now on straight.

HE needs to fight once every 2 months though to keep that edge.... ;)

I trust we had to use HR Kimbrel because Carson Smith was unavailable. The HR's are a bit of a concern as he has been letting opponents launch. Joe Kelly may have found a groove if he can replicate 10 pitches for 3 outs, avoiding the 2 out walk. Benentendi denied a shot at the cycle since Kimbrel didn't blow the save. Very selfish, Craig. Nice welcome back to Pedey from the Fenway faithful. Steven Wright working his way into the mix. Pomeranz is a mystery but I'm getting visions of Clay Buchholz and Daniel Bard issues.

Keep winning 2 of 3 every series and the standings will take care of themselves.

Note that this was the first game the Red Sox counted more than 6 runs in about a month, except for the one 10 run beatdown of the Yankees

Another nice win with contributions all around again. They need to look at Pom at this point and try to determine what is going on if they don't already know. Sending him out there every 5th day at this point would suggest that they don't really know. I would rather have an effective Pom for later in the season if that is possible than see him continue like this. The way he is pitching even if he does not get worse the results are going to get worse.

I was shocked when I first read this but you're right. However, they have scored 5 or 6 runs numerous times in that span. You might almost call it a consistent offense.
