see now... That's what I'm talking about with Devers!

Unless, of course, I'm bashing the s*** out of him. ;)

Was that Brooks Robinson who made that play?

Plus - who and the hell is this stiff on the mound tonight for us? lol

If you bash Devers, you have no soul.

I concur ...Devers is a savant....Dude is a freak of nature .I watch him play and just smile even his errors are like a new born deer finding there legs ...Kid is our future .

JBJ was never as bad since 2014 than he is this year. It was not like you could say "well look at that massive swing flaw". 2014 was the last time you could say that. But that is where they are with him this year and its not even the same massive swing flaw from 2014. Its a different massive swing flaw. We saw what it took to take care of it in 2014. That was an intervention! This one is if anything going to be harder to come to grips with and just sending him out there in the lineup every day is not going to get it done.

I understand what your trying to say. Your last sentence isn’t me though. I only need him to get 1 measly single every 10 ab’s and he is my starting CFer. He’s already 70 points above my threshold so I’m good with the k’s or whatever. His defense is that important to me.

No manager in MLB, including Cora, would keep anyone in CF who was getting a single every 10 at bats. Aesthetically, you have a point. Great defense is the poetry of baseball and what we love to see in person and on the boob tube if only because of the sheer repetition and sometimes monotony of pitching and swinging.

But surely even you can see that tonight the defense is all about Price and the offense about those two dingers. All the other stuff is fun to watch and even comment on but has no effect on the game outcome.

Jung ...you are not alone bud ...plenty of us here feel the same .I think we all want this particular player to succeed but he's making it very hard on management .In a perfect world you could have someone bat for this once in a generation cF glove ...that world doesn't exist hence he's half a player ....you and I and management need to give JBJ this year and if he never improves ...it's time to move on .

I love seeing Devers come over the top with that throw. When he does that arm is an accurate freaking rocket.

I love JBJ, but I'm gonna need my starting CF hitting better than .100 ...

Well, you've got it!!

Orioles announcers are talking about the great jump and straight route Mookie had to make that grab. I truly believe he is a better defensive rightfielder than JBJ is a centerfielder.

Max .....no one and I mean no one I've ever seen is better than JBJ in CF ...It's the only reason he hasn't been DFA

I think it would be great for him if this happened .I kind of hope they do this for him ....

And then when he fails we can stop hearing about how great he really is and that we and the Sox FO don’t know what we’re talking about.
