f***. Pom is up to 26 pitches already.

At least he got out of that jam with no damage.

Not "at least." It was great even though I thought evil thoughts throughout. ERod did that too against the Yankees--took over 20 pitches in the first.

Pomeranz unfortunately reminds me a lot of Dice-K. Incredibly slow, walks a lot of guys, and allows a lot of base runners in general, but somehow gets thru innings with minimal damage, throws a ton of pitches and gives the team 5-6, frustrating, annoying innings.

Yup. I have had similar opinions of him.

He is kind of like Buch Lite as well.

Of course Buch had superior stuff when he was "on".

Wow, so they said on NESN that decision to steal 3B yesterday was Vazquez just being stupid, it wasn't a called play. What an idiot.
He has pulled some rocks so far this season. He has had a bad case of head up ass disease.

He has been nothing short of horrible this season. I literally can't even think of a positive about him. He's been bad offensively, defensively, on the bases. I don't know what his deal is

All that big money going to his head!

Sorry, but, while I agree it was not a good play, my guess is that Vaz thought he could get a big jump against that shift. He did beat the throw, but overslid 3B. I'm pretty sure it didn't cost anything because the next three batters K'd, popped out, and K'd.

Its still stupid for a below average runner, whose slow to make the first out attempting to steal third base. You also don't know those results would've been the same if Vazquez stayed put.

I love Mothers Day, but we don't need to change uniform colors for so many different days/events. The players change every year making it is hard to develop a connection with the players. Why must they make it difficult to develop a connection with the laundry too? LOL!! Give them pink bats and gloves. Make the bases pink, but leave the uniforms unchanged. Just my preference.

Welcome to your new MLB

Boy, are you ever right about that. He is worthless beyond question. Thank goodness his last outing was against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium--no problems there. They must be the weakest hitters in MLB to do so poorly against lousy, rotten, old Pom.

That’s a pretty stupid take. When you lose significant fastball velocity you lose your margin for error. He therefore needs to nibble more

So, how long does this guy last? I thinl the sooner the better!

But good news! I'e been wrong before!

And that is a warped Yankee fan take. Everyone knows that there are guys who do not need velocity to win and that there are guys who throw in the mid to upper 90s who do not win. Its control that matters, not velocity.

I don't know they would have been the same, but I do know they in fact happened, which carries a strong liklihood they would have.

At least he got out of it again, but we'll be lucky to get 5 out of him today.

His curve looks good, maybe he should forget about his 4 seamer and go w/ his curve more. ?

Not really. Different things happen in different situations. Pitch selection could've been different, the approaches could've changed. Cora himself said the play "wasn't smart", you love managers and believe they're all geniuses, so you should realize this is a stupid play. Making the first out at 3B is a big no-no at any level, especially by a slow runner attempting to steal 3rd, its just dumb baseball.

This is what I see. He also looks like he has nothing going for him as far as good pitches. Last year I just thought he was going to get killed each game, and what do you know, has a great season.

One thing is. If every one of our pitchers were healthy. I think this might be the best 1 to 5 rotation I've seen for the Sox.

Pom lives with a high low plane change rather and east-west. He relies on fastballs up and curveballs down. Losing 3 mph off the fastball makes the high fastball a meatball rather than a ball he sneaks by a hitter. It’s common baseball sense. Anyone can have a good day and Pom had one against NY. Doesn’t mean he will continue to have the same success with diminished stuff

I just agreed with you, so what are you mad about? I agreed Pom is terrible, but did fine against the Yankees for 6 innings. You are perfectly free to come back at me and say the Yankees are the best hitting ball club in baseball right now. But, if you do, you have to concede that whatever Pom is doing seems to be working. Way too many pitches, I agree, but he did that last year too.
