OK, credit is now due Pomeranz. I have hammered him repeatedly and not just on this game thread. But Cora stuck with him, and he now has 3 scoreless innings after giving up 3 runs in the first 2. Also, the umpire has definitely squeezed him, especially on low pitches.

Fenway is no longer a great HR park. Certainly is not the HR park I grew up with. All that extra seating has turned the place into a fishbowl that the breeze just does not get into like it did. Definitely a doubles park now especially with the new press box and lux boxes.

 

It's been a double park at least since the 600/.406/EMC Club was originally built. I remember Boggs complaining about it.

Results are all that matters and he has gotten results in his career. His stuff looks substandard, but that knuckle curve is very effective when he is ahead in the count.
