I think Martinez will come around at the plate once he gets into the groove. I still do not want to see him playing in the OF in Fenway at all...that is simply too dangerous an OF for a guy like Martinez. We will not be able to afford to have his bat out of the batting order for any long stretches and you really have to be a good OFer just to avoid injury in that OF.

 

I still would have had Mookie playing in this game. Its the 6th game of the season with a day off tomorrow and Sale on the mound. If you end up giving up 1 run to get 1 run, what are you really? Hard to look at Martinez game tonight in a positive light unless he hits one out to win it.

 

Just because we sat him tonight does not mean he would not have been available for a late inning pinch hitting role.

He would've had to fully layout for it, if he doesn't catch it, its likely extra bases, it wasn't worth the risk in that situation.
