Thanks Theo!

Torres is also the player that botched a play at 2nd that led to the Angels scoring, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks Theo!

Did Cashman gave up anything worthwhile for Gray? They seems to get bargains via trades, either accepting a huge contract in the case of Stanton or taking a freebie like Chappy.

Boone is a dolt. Two outs, runner on third and Trout up. Trout hammered two doubles off Gray and Boone lets Gray face him again. What a dick. I cannot stand Boone

I never did understand why Cash dumped Joe and hired this idiot but he must know more about it than me.

Who would you rather be managing the Yanks now? Girardi or Boone?

3 top 100 prospects for Gray, but two were on the shelf for the season at the time. The other was mercurial Jorge Mateo who has sucked so far this year. Dustin Fowler is in the majors currently, but off to a slow start. James Kaprielian should be about ready to debut after recovering from TJS.

Joe apparently wore on the players and was resistant to the analytic movement. His gaffe in game 2 of the ALDS secured his fate, IMO.

Now, the Yanks have one of the best records in baseball right now, so Boone is doing something right. My problem with him is the lack of understanding of a bullpen. He should know a few things by now. KRob’s command is off, so he needs to start a clean inning. Betances cannot go for more than 3 outs. Pitching to Mike Trout with the tying run on base with two outs and an open base is a bad idea. Just standard stuff that most Yankee fans can predict from a mile away.

Everybody was giving Beane s*** for accepting injured prospects. Looks like they will not do much. But equally, the Yankees have not gotten much from Gray. Though Gray was "ace" type with the A's.

It's too early to tell who will do much. Beane got 3 guys in the BA top 100, so it isn't like he got stiffs. Fowler is a power hitting CFer with speed who has the ceiling of a 30-30 player. Mateo was converted to CF, but had the bat skills and 80 speed to be a leadoff hitter with league leading SB totals. Kaprielian is the real jewel, IMO. Kap fell victim to the Yankee medical staff. He missed almost all of 2016 with a forearm strain, then pitched in the AFL and looked amazing. With ST starting in 2017, he was diagnosed with a torn UCL and had TJS. The guy has top end stuff with the polish of an ace, he just hasn't been healthy. If all 3 were healthy, Beane wouldn't have gotten all of them, maybe only one.

Gray has been a disappointment, the way is looking right now the A's could be the overall winner after all is said and done

Fowler will be a ML regular at least

Mateo could be a nice leadoff hitter (hit and miss)

Kap could be the real jewel of this trade (Cashamn was very reluctant to give him up, reports said that he was willing to include Adams instead of him)

The comeback win was awesome, but it hid a little hole in the Stros armor. Morton has been untouchable, but we got to him a bit and limited him to 6IP, which other teams have had trouble doing. Keuchel has been our nemesis, but since the POs last year, we’ve been able to touch him up a bit. We are 5-2 vs HOU this year including 3 of 4 in Houston. They’re still the favorites in the AL, but if they don’t improve that pen (or stick McCullers out there come PO time) we will beat them in a 7 game series

Kaprielian has not pitch since 2016. Mateo not hitting anything in the minors now. And Fowler is playing not even putting up the mendoza line. Not anything Oakland can build around.

Houston pen let them down vs the Yankees. But Cole, Verlander, Morton...... yeesh that a tough order.

Still too early to say, all are pretty young. But I think Mateo ends up as the biggest non-factor. Maybe he can be an MLB pinch runner. As for Fowler, I think he'll end up as an averagish bat with plus defense and speed. And who the hell knows about Kap. He has high end potential but has barely thrown more professional innings than I have. The biggest skill any pitcher can have is availability, and he gets a 0 out of 80 rating there.

I agree, that's a tall order, but if they not go the distance in every game they are beatable

The 'Stros are just messin' with the Yankees right now.

Hope they mess with us this way in the playoffs

Lulling you into a false sense of security.

They have the Yankees right where they want 'em.

I see you guys are trying to use that same strategy against Houston ;)
