Pedroia 2B, Young LF, Betts RF, Ramirez DH, Travis 1B, Bogaerts SS, Devers 3B, Vazquez C, Bradley CF

Rodriguez does not have a W in the 2nd half, thanks to this bloated 5.20 ERA.

We won't be getting any help from other teams in terms of beating the Yankees. We need to take care of our own business. It's time for Rodriguez and our pathetic offense to step it up.

WIN!!!

ERod, maybe requested by Vazquez, threw a first pitch fastball right down the middle to Lowrie, who hammered it. Not good pitching.

Now c'mon.. I know you're down on Vazquez, but do you really think he called for a first pitch fastball in the middle of the plate???

Betts was just not thinking. The low pitch was intended to get a grounder, which he supplied. Definitely should have been more patient.

Hard to be sure. Other teams do that to us regularly and our guys just stare at that first pitch strike. Plus ERod just walked a guy, so maybe he just signaled, "fast ball for a strike."

Very nice. First Travis (on an 0-2) count gets a double off a fat fastball (pitcher mistake), then Bogaerts does the same thing to bring him home, then Devers singles to get men on 1st and 2d with no one out. Neat.

Mass confusion on that popup catchable by both Travis and Pedey, but Betts had to make the grab.

I didn't think that was confusion. I thought Mookie just called them off because he could catch it coming in - an easier play.

Bad play, Devers. Very bad. Yea, it is written never make the 3d out or 1st out at 3b or risk it. They play was much too close and much therefore be classified as boneheaded. I mean, I loved it because I don't care about that stupid rule.

I hope you are right because Betts is great at those. But I have also seen him accept a wave off on the same play, which would then get dropped. Certainly on that one Travis acted like he thought he would catch it.

I have told moonslav repeatedly I basically don't care who bats cleanup, but I just might make an exception in HanRam's case. He just swung and missed at changeup that was up and very hittable and the same place as a previous changeup. what a putz.

All that he does is swing from his heels w/o thinking about the pitch, situation, etc. Sox need Big Papi to come in and try to slap some sense into HanRam.
