Leon's throwing seems off, but I suspect the pitchers prefer him. Blocks the low pitches well and maybe calls a better game..

Porcello had been very lucky in the game... not in this inning. Porcello is chocking... it's time tomgo the BP.

Those 3 cardinal runs should be no surprise. Porcello does leave a lot of pitches up, including sliders and curve balls. Th triple play and double play helped him a lot.

I think Betts will have a two week stretch where he plays like the MVP runner last year. He's crushed the ball every stop of his career. He'll come out of it.

Betts is broken
Did the camera pick him up on the way to the dugout when he popped up? It looked like he was grimacing and holding one of his hands as of it hurt. But then again, my eyes are not that young and I am not that close to the dugout, so he could just have been upset at popping up and he was removing his batting gloves very slowly. I was just wondering if the cameras picked up something.

also, for a guy who never used to strike out, he k's qulte a bit now.

I missed that, but you might be onto something.

Before tonight, his K rate was actually down (12.5%> 11.0%> 10.2% last 3 years), but he now has 4 in his last 9 PAs.

He also had 8 Ks in 33 PAs from July 30th to August 8th. In between, he had zero in 20 PAs.

Combined, that's 12 in his last 62 PAs (56 ABs). That's a 21.4% K rate in his last 12 games.

Assuming this team wins the division but does anyone feel cleveland could be a tough opponent come the playoffs if this team gets there? I feel home field advantage has to be a plus against them.

Of course, they will be tough. They killed us last year and have added EE, and Brantley, Carrasco and Salazar are back from injuries.

Absolutely they will just like last year. Boston is hitting which is nice to see and made good work of Cleveland in the 2 game series. I can't see us getting whooped by them quite like last year but they wouldn't be my first team to face that's for sure.

I feel more confident with our pitching though this year. Price was garbage last year against them. Not sure if this year will be any different. But we are definitely swinging the bats which is nice to see. And it's almost a 90% chance when Sale pitches we will win. Porcello also since the All star break is really getting his s*** together. I think Boston would give Cleveland a hell of a series.

If anyone can match up against Sale in the AL, it's Kluber.

Yet it was an accurate post.

Sale didn't look so good in his last outing against the Guardians.

After last October, Price and Porcello inspire zero confidence against any team with a decent offense.

With any luck, Price will still be on the DL then.

I'd rather face Houston than the Tribe this fall.

It's near impossible because Houston is either the 1 or 2 seed.

Agreed Cleveland isn't my first time I want to play in the playoffs that is for sure. I just don't think it will go down like last year. Cleveland has been very streaky this year as well. They can get on a roll but when they cool off they look extremely average. If our offense shows up in the playoffs I would be confident we could at least take a couple with Sale and Porcello pitching. I would like to say I am confident with Price but that is so far from the truth it's not even funny. I don't even know if he is able to return by playoffs if I would want him pitching.
