Tune in early for the Uniform Retirement Ceremony for David (Big Papi) Ortiz-- The Greatest Clutch Hitter in Red Sox history.

Also, it is time for me to get into the win column on game threads.

Last season, he got in a once in a career groove. I expected some regression this season, but he gives up a ton of hits.

True but he's really hurting this team. It's like an automatic L. He's BP!

I would be thrilled if he could just pitch to his 9 year career norms -- a 4.25 ERA while eating innings.

Beat this garbage team. Too bad for all the ticket holders who were hoping for a chance to see Trout.

Yeah that sucks but there are players I would like to see like Albert and Cole Calhoun ( who is an official All-Spudboy team Sox killer ).

I am looking forward to a call that goes against the Angels just so I can see Socia throw a tizzy and get the boot.

Angels will just be happy to play at a classy facility and not one that is infested with rats.

The refuse can sit out for more than 12 hours before it is collected, a time lag that may help account for the 118 vermin violations that county officials logged at stadium kiosks and restaurants over the last 2 ½ years.

Of those reports, 33 represent “major” violations, in which “rodent activity” was observed by health inspectors in a “critical area” of 18 stadium food venues.

“It should be zero. A restaurant is closed down for these kinds of things,” said Richard Sanchez, the director of environmental health for the county Health Care Agency.

In about the same period, San Diego’s Petco Park had two vermin violations and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles had seven, records show.

Scioscia argues balls and strikes from the first inning -- very annoying.

Porcello's problem is pretty obvious--losusy command of his pitches. Someone else wrote something that might also be true--maybe he's throwing too hard. He needs to be able to use his changeup, curve, etc and to hit his spots and especially to keep the ball low.

Angels are going with a 27 year old rookie whose ERA for his last six games was 1.91. I'm guessing the lineup will be:

Betts

Pedey

Bogaerts

Moreland

Beni

jbj

HanRam or Young

Leon

Rutledge

That's 4 lefty bats, which is usually the most Farrell goes with these days especially with Pablo on the DL again.

The Sox are rested to a degree but now play 17 straight--7 at Fenway and 10 on the road--before the ASG. So Farrell isn't going to pull Porcello at the first sign of trouble at least not before the 5th or 6th and/or 7 runs.

Sox are now 8th in the AL in runs scored and 4th in ERA and LA is worse in both.

Re/Tues night--did anyone take into conideration the 95 degree bullpen these guys had been sweating in all night? The KC guys are more or less used to it. And for a long time I have wondered at the differences in the two pens!

Pretty good guessing if I do say so myself. I like Farrell's better because JBJ can do a lot of damage in the 7 slot.

AB could have run the ball back into the infield.

MVP is right....... I think Xander was supposed to be the relay... but Benny I think should have run it in instead of launching it home..

He does some really dumb stuff...

There is some bag lapping from OB. He says how you think that other teams would have learned by now to not run on Beni's arm.

Now I love the kid. I think his bat is very real. His speed and athleticism are assets.

But boy he has a habit of throwing to the wrong place and many of his throws are off the mark as well.

Of course I am not an expert. But I know where balls should be throw most of the time.

I don't think the kid is stupid. I do think that he has plenty to learn about how to properly play this game.

David Ortiz is the most important player in the history of the Red Sox franchise.
