Our friend Moon is in the middle of a hostile crowd there! I hope he's doing his rooting for the Sox quietly. :D

Well who knows where he was sitting but there was a very vociferous Sox contingent. So much so that Astros fans tried to drown them out.

The Astros have one of the dumbest ball parks in the league. This place is set up so stupid.. But I guess at least the dumb ass hill is gone.

That hill was just plain dumb.

I do not like that corner in the middle of left field. If nothing else it looks stupid. It creates obstructed view for some fans and there is a really big area of dirt in front of it.

Otherwise that park is built for homers and looks like a fun place to see a game.

These uniforms are giving me a hard time quickly differentiating what team is what when I glance up at the game.

Yup.

Annoying as f***.

f***ING STUPID. Why the f*** would you put Price back out there? He struggled all night and was over 100 pitches. This is why Farrell is a f***ing retard.

When it happened I almost jumped off the sofa and said those words.

Dumb as f*** to bring him out especially after a long 1/2 inning.

Predictable result and typical Farrell.

Just got back from a great time at the game.

Went out for some seafood before the game for Father's Day.

We hit the ball hard for a lot of outs early in the game, then went soft. I had a feeling we were going to lose.

Big win.

The Yanks lose.

What's all the fuss been about?

That was another stressful and nerve wracking game, but also very enjoyable.

Awesome throws by Beni and Vazquez to get big outs.

Winning 2 of 3 from Houston on the road - can't complain about that.

Huge win on the road against the best W-L record in the AL. Gave us a 2-1 series win and a semi-tie with the Yankees for 1st in the AL East.

Price had real trouble commanding his breaking stuff, especially his changeup, but he still held a good Astros lineup to 3 runs in 5+ innings.

I read the complaints about sending Price back out for the 6th, and I personally would probably not have. But this was the 13th consecutive game for the Sox without a break and included a ton of innings, including two extra inning games in Philly, by the bullpen. Price had already gotten Marisnick out twice, including a K, so it was not unreasonable to bring Price back out. And did no one else that the guy, Hembree, who replaced Price, also gave up a dinger?

Huge night for Bogie. Huge. Great throw by Beni.

This lineup clearly misses Ortiz, but kimmi could be right that they still have potential, which is what we saw last night. Moreland has recently been hot, but last night he struck out 4 times in the cleanup slot, and the Sox still scored 6 runs, twice as many as in their first two games in Houston combined.

Timely hits too.

I think we left 4 runners on base to Houston's 14!

Our M.O. seems to flipping. We finally we outscored in a series and managed to win it anyways. I'm not sue how often that has happened in recent years, but I know we've lost many more series despite outscoring the opponents.

FTR, I was surprised that Price came back out too, but Farrell had a reasonable explanation for bringing him back out, and going batter by batter. The next Astros batter, Marisnick, has pretty extreme reverse splits. He has a .300/.386/.720/1.106 slash line with seven homers and 13 RBIs against righties and a .209/.277/.326/.602 slash line with no homers (until last night) against lefties.

I'm not saying that leaving Price in was the right call, but he is not making his decisions as blindly as some seem to think he is.

Great. Stats are not everything but I can see how his non-move can be justified.

Grady Little was justified too, I suppose.

My eyes told me that Price was done after pitching with maybe 30% of his peak command.

For the record I don't s*** on Farrell much.

This is not trying to knock your knowledge of baseball in any way, but don't you think that Farrell and the coaches, who work with him every day and are in the dugout with him, can tell better than any of us whether Price is done or not?

Yes, I would hope so.

However I also believe that sometimes these manager types get ideas in their heads and just stick with them, right or wrong. Sometimes they may be a little too close to make subtle distinctions.
