The players are not performing up to expectations.

This pitching needs help in the rotation(Price) and the bullpen needs quality reinforcements like Smith. Pom needs to be able to go 6 innings or they need to admit he's injured and move on.

The offence needs some thunder added to the lineup, maybe at 3rd base. Players like Boggie need to find some power in their bat.

Hanley needs to hit with power more consistently. As a team they have to be better with RISP.

Their frequent defensive miscues seems to have settled down with Marrero at 3rd but he can't hit a lick.

DD has some work to do to get this team on track, or it will end up being another 190m flop.

Start with getting rid of that buffoon managing the team.

I gotta be mad at someone. Shoot. Farrell, leave Pom in for another inning ... let him prove he needs to be pulled. Taylor isn't up to snuff. Another game lost because Farrell made a stupid decision. I can't even watch anymore. Dadgummit. THis team needs something and quick ... find a field general, find some spark, find something ...

ARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!

This is OAKLAND that is handing us our arses ..... OAKLAND ....

Wow, did marrero really swing at a pitch that the catcher practically dove for and still couldn't catch!

So Pomeranz shows some heart wanting to go out for one more inning, and Farrell has words with him and puts in 2 complete pigs who blow up the game.

Someone tell me farrell will be fired soon? This team cannot be this terrible!!! Even when the yankees lose this team can't win!

The Sox didn't do too bad today. They had 1 more run than their normal 2 and 1 more hit than their normal 6. The pitching though sucks.

Don't think this fan base expects any less of Farrell and his strange choices.

That's up to Dumbrowski, so I would have to say he won't be fired soon.

You know when every decision you make blows up in your face then it is time to find a new profession.

Looked like Farrell gave up in the ninth. No pinch hitting , although he had left handed hitters on the bench. I know it is a long shot , but at least try to turn the lineup over. Does not send a very good message to a team that looks pretty lifeless as it is. It could be time for a change.

This is the thing with all of the s*** being thrown at Pomeranz he finally showed that he might have some heart. Farrell does what he does. He tries to constantly play by someone's book. Don't know whose though. If he was a politician, i would say that he tries to constantly be politically correct. Baseball just isn't that clean.

They all play by the book. Very few manage well to game situations. Bochy might be the best one in today's game. Last post season, Francona used Miller early and often for extended outings, because his starting rotation was decimated with injuries. Necessity is the mother of invention. After watching Francona's success, the copycats have been out in force this season. Farrell has used Kimbrel 2 or 3 times in the 8th inning when the game was on the line. Ditto Terry Collins of the Mets who has used Addison Russell in the 7th inning when he was the 8th inning guy, and he used Familia in the 8th. The copycats will do the new strategy to death like a formula even after it ceases to be effective or necessary. It is like how all of these doofuses do the shift to death -- even using it on .240 bottom of the order hitters with no pop who can rarely square up a ball. It is asinine.

Last Sunday night, the Astros were up 10-4 in the 7th inning with 1 out and Gardner gets on first base. With Sanchez up, they overshift to the left side of the infield and hold the runner on first base leaving the entire right side of the infield vacated. There was just so much that was stupid about that alignment that even the clueless ESPN trio that was busy taking turns leaving hickeys on Jeter's ass questioned why they woud be holding on a runner when they needed 7 more outs and were up 6 runs. So many times in 9th inning situations where teams are up multiple runs against left hand hitters, managers will hold the runner and play double play dept at second and SS leaving a huge hole for a ground ball. Why are they giving the batter that hole and worrying about the runner when you need 2 or 3 more outs. It leaves you shaking your head.

I'd rather have them struggle early in the season than struggle late in the season. Go Sox! ... or ...um, .. don't?

This is the truth. This team has been maddening and a big let down so far, but one thing we have on our side right now is the calendar. There's a long way to go. As Pedroia said, talk to me after they've played 162.

Yay, Pom only needed 97 pitches to get through 4.

Pomeranz, like Buchholz before him, needs to stop doing any thinking on the mound. He needs to take a page out of Sale's book. Get the ball back, get the sign, don't shake off the catcher, and pitch.
