I had forgotten last night's hame and the use of the entire bullpen. Sort of made this as close to a tgrow away game as you can get. JF was right in keeping with this guy even if he may have pitched his Red Sox game. At keast for this season.

It's not a throw away game if Sale the original starter pitch as scheduled.

I don't get why people can't get this. If the bullpen is tired, why are you going to pitch a crappy pitcher instead of a guy who typically goes eight innings.

What does that mean?

Its literally just stupid ********. Porcello and Sale were opening day and 2nd game starters, why do we all of a sudden need to separate them? it literally makes no sense, especially when they are being separated to let a piece of s*** pitch.

Yup, I googled it and found an article about it

http://nesn.com/2017/05/red-soxs-starting-rotation-has-a-new-look-ahead-of-series-vs-athletics/

Whatever that means..

Yep, that is why I didn't remember the reason, because it made no sense. Is this poor kid going to make another start or is Farrell going to stick Price in between Porcello and Sale the next time around. I can't think of a single good reason how giving this kid a start would solidify our rotation.

He showed nothing tonight against a weak lineup without their best hitter. I don't see any reason for this guy to get another start.

Well maybe Sale said something privately. Maybe they noticed something last time out. The one thing none of us armchair managers know is the little day to day things that real managers know about.

One other possiblity coming of be the Price factor and slotting him in on a 5 day schedule.

I bet you Ferrell starts him next go around

You shouldn't have JUICED the ball then, commissioner.
I was thinking this when they mentioned speeding up the game. This ball is supercharged. Hanley has already had a couple of shots over 440. One I think went 460. At least he is a fairly sizable guy. Beni is a squirt and he hit one 438 and last night Bradley (another small guy) hit one 440. This is a golf ball.

or we could just wait till price is actually healthy to worry about slotting him in on a 5 day schedule.

and I doubt Sale said anything, he's a competitor and wants to be out there all the time. Farrell is an idiot and I see no reason to give him benefit of the doubt.

They have been plotting this for a while. I don't think it had anything to do with Sale saying anything.

Sure, I'd understand pushing back Sale if it was to get Price back and to keep him on a 5 day schedule. It doesn't make any sense to push Sale back for a scrub to make a start when he could've just been skipped with the off day. They gave this game away for no damn reason.

Betts, Dozier hit 75HR last year combined. That's very definition of something not normal. The ball carry tonight here too with 60s weather. It's always dead here.

The A's have the worst record in the league and Farrell gave them a gift wrapped game.

That is a good point. The ball normally carries very poorly at night games at the Coliseum.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals have worse records than the Oakland Athletics.

This loss is on Farrell. Velazquez had not thrown a single pitch at the MLB level, that should have been enough for Farrell to realize that he was going to suck tonight. This is why in the past, all MLB pitchers were required to pitch at least three games in the Major Leagues before they were allowed to pitch a game in the Major Leagues. Farrell's failure to realize that Velazquez was going to suck without any evidence for or against that outcome is inexcusable. If our manager cannot predict the future with 100 percent accuracy, what good is he? Edited by Youk Of The Nation

Something has to change I don't give a s*** what it is.... But at this rate we will not be better than a .500 team. And that is simply not good enough to make playoffs not with the way the Yankees and Orioles are playing. Sick of this win one lose one crap. Frustrating beyond words.
