I think Farrell usually does ok with the pitching staff. I think the NL managing "rules" really are too complicated for him though. If Butterfield asked him about a "double switch" his brain would probably shutdown.

 

People used to always post the same thing about Francona, that the double switch was too complicated for him handle.

Kimbrel strikes out the side on nine pitches. That is known as an "Immaculate Inning ". Does not happen too often.

Yup, I am liking Farrell' recent willingness to 'go against the grain'.

 

That said, the Sox playing for one run in the 1st inning was a big no-no.

He is using Kimbrel when he needs him. It makes no sense to leave him sitting there while the game slips away.

 

I am getting fed up with Barnes' act.

I never did. I can tell the difference between Francona and a guy like Farrell.
