Meh. Worth a try when you have a three run lead.

The Y's put up 2 and the Sox respond with 2. I'm good with that. Of course I'd have been better with more than two. :)

So.

Driving home tonight I was listening to WEEI and Castigs call the game. They had Jason Groome in the booth. This kid wants to be call "J" or Jay since that is what everyone calls him.

I learned that Jay has been throwing a curve since 14 but really started to use it in games over the past two years. He has also been throwing a knuckle ball since 14 but has used it only once in a high school game ( it was a ball ).

The highlight of the interview was when Castig said "You have TWO brothers that are TWINS?"

No you stupid f***. He has three brothers that are twins!!!

Now I don't know what to hope for. If the Sox put up double figures tonight does it mean they lose a one-run game tomorrow?

Mr. Kimbrel is very fortunate I'm not sitting in John Farrells's seat. If I were I'd be seriously considering Koji as the closer now. Regardless of the outcome, I'm sick of Kimbrel's tightrope acts, especially when Koji is getting it done without the drama.

Dombrowski would fire you on the spot.

You don't trade a top prospect like they did to move Kimbrel out of the 9th.

Does that make any sense? "We have to play him because of what we gave up to get him"?

In that case, I hope Farrell makes Kimbrel the 8th inning guy.

Why wouldn't you play him? He's one of the best closers in the game. Plus, he's Dombrowski's handpicked guy. You don't go against you boss if you value job security.

At the risk of sounding like the stereotypical Red Sox fan, God, I hope we don't lose this game like the Yankees lost the one last night.

Missed the game tonight but looks like the offense showed up again! 2 in a row over the Yankees. Always a love site to see :) I can drink and be a happy man. How did Clay look if anyone can tell me?

He was in trouble all night. We need him to steps up, his next game is against the O's.

Clay Buchholz got two gidp's from the Yankees best hitter, and that made all the difference.

I think it was more like everyone on this thread was panicking all night.......

it wasn't pretty, but it got the job done. And yes, a couple of Houdini double plays may have saved him.......

He may gotten a couple of DPs, but he pitch yet again a vomit inducing outing. His big test is against the Orioles.

If they don't win 3 out of 4 now then it would be a major fail. Got price pitching tomorrow. Need to win the series!!! Enough of these splits.

Agreed . Sounds like Clay wasn't great but wasn't horrible. Trouble is against a good team like Baltimore that gives us a tough series always will be a test.... now saying that the Yankees have also been deadly lately so it's not like this was a pushover team

Some need to really chillax on clay. Guy pitched a more than quality start. Tonight wasn't good enough? It doesn't count until he pitches a QS against the o's next start? Give me a fukking break.
