You don't get it, Price was out of gas in the 4th inning. Somethings wrong. Farrell has to pull him regardless of what other problems the team is having..

I think I do get it. Did you not notice that Holt's egregious error (couldn't catch a perfect throw to 3B) gave the Dodgers an extra out in the 4th inning and that all three runs in the 5th were unearned?

The kid can hit lefties too. But of course he will be back on the bench against the next lefty starter.

We gotta get Bryce Brent some AB's!! He needs them, he has a bright future with this team (until he's DFA for Chris Young returns).

Thats why you put the kid in left and f.. leave him there. He will have a learning curve, but if he's as good as projected, he has to play...

did you notice that Price allowed 6 hits and 5 walks in 5 innings, and had given up a near home run to the guy he was about to face with 98 pitches the previous time he faced him?

I think this may be the case. There might be something physically wrong with him.

The last game he played somewhere around the 5th there were three hard hit balls that went right to defenders. He got lucky. He then had a easy inning, then got rocked.

But he was in trouble in the 5th his last start........... there is something other than forgetting how to pitch....

Yup, but his ass still should have been pulled....

Without the errors the Sox would not be leading this game 4-3. Without Bogaerts totally horseshit GIDP in the 3d inning with the bases loaded the Sox would be leading by more than 4-3.

But they didn't make those plays and Price didn't pick up his teammates, he should've been taken out after that walk to load the bases. Its simple. No one is arguing Sox defense and Price played well.

Steven Wright is the pinch runner? I find it hard to believe that HE is the best baserunner out of the bullpen...

He looks like he is slow as s***.. That was an odd move..

I think were all frustrated with Price right now. The hitting covered the pitchers in the first half, and if we don't start raking again, it will be a tough road. Hopefully we get home and start hitting again.

The fact that there were errors is unimportant. 6 runs is 6 runs. Price had NOTHING, couldn't throw strikes and we getting hit hard when he did come over the plate. They should have gone right to Buchholz. This isn't like him just running out of gas the last time out, he struggled from the start today.

Just realize, we could very well have a 1 run lead right now if Farrell pulled Price after the first walk in the 5th. Instead we are still trailing. Waiting until your pitcher gives up 6,7, 8 runs is never a winning strategy...

It has been mentioned once or twice during this game: Betts is hitting close to .500 with two outs and a man in scoring position. And these idiots still have him leading off.

I rest my case. Someone else can start a similar "home stand" thread on Tuesday when the Yankees come in and, I hope, JF goes out.

I'd put him in CF. In the last 12 games, including this one, Bradley is 6 for 44 with 1 rbi. Have you watched him at the plate tonight? Talk about a lost soul. It's like we're back in the earlier segments of last year and all of the year before.

You aren't going to use a reliever; they might be needed to pitch. That leaves one of the starting pitchers. Porcello, Wright, ERod or Pomeranz. Pomeranz may have been a better choice since he;s actually run the bases some this year, but maybe Wright is the fastest of that group.

Wow, Benintendi has some speed. I cannot believe he scored on that.

It was a terrific slide which gave up almost no velocity plus he stuck his left hand out and touched the plate while going by.

He sure is having a tough go of it.. Hope he comes out of it soon.. Slumps suck..

Errors absolutely do count when evaluating pitcher performance. I say again, without those two egregious errors, the Sox are leading right now 5-3.

Some people just like to rant.

Two (or ten) errors do not excuse the s*** pitching Price did today or the s*** managing Farrell did leaving him in there to struggle.
