Absolutely true, and, frankly, I agree with that informal rule. I'm happy to defend specific managerial decisions but also think he should be held accountable for overall team performance.

I don't how many more times I can put up with the games of Pattycake, Pattcake that JF plays with his pitchers. If there's ghost of a chance for the guy to get out of the inning and MAYBE not be the losing pitcher, Farrell sits on his ass, and prays (I suppose). Price was done in the 4th inning. He had 30 pitches that inning, and even more in the 5th. Is he blind? Price has had nothing from the start of the game!

Roberts saved the game by pulling McCarthy early when he saw he had nothing, Farrell will just sit here picking his ass until were down by 6, then waddle his fat ass out there and finally remove price, because he's blind i guess.

 

Not quite. Right now it doesn't matter who LA sends to the mound--our guys are unable to hit the ball. McCarthy left because he had a gigantic control problem, a problem, I hasten to add, the Sox did a terrible job of exploiting.

 

Price gave up 3 earned runs. The defense, which has been gawdawful, gave up 3 on their own.

All kidding aside, Farrell has no feel for the groove of the game. He's a great bench coach, but can't handle the ins and outs of the game. Right now how ever un popular it would be, I'd skip Price for one start to give a chance to get his act together. He looks mentally beat.

Price is what he is this year. He will pitch some good games everybody does. But overall his ERA should be close to 5 after this game. He is not going to turn around. The team might. He will not. Does he have the mental make up to pitch in Boston. We will know more next year. If they do play a one game playoff game I rather see RP or SW pitch it.

John Farrell is the type of manager to call a hit and run with a runner on 3rd, no one out and in a tied game, then be like "dammit" after the runner on 3rd is tagged out at home.

As promised, this is all Farrell's fault. No problems with the sieve defense or the absolutely abysmal hitting. Those don't count. What counts is the Sox are down 6-2, caused mostly by two huge errors by Holt and Bogaerts and leading to 3 unearned runs (it should have been 4 unearned runs), so it has to be Farrell's fault.

i disagree with that. this team has a lot of young guys who work their asses off. i like mookie, jbj, xander, beninintendi adnd all of the young nucleus.

You can blame the defense all you want, and yes it sucked. But Price still allowed 11 hits/walks in 5 innings and looked awful out there, its CLEAR to tell that he was done. this wasn't hindsight, me and numerous people said he shouldn't be facing segedin, he faces him and what do you know.. 2 run single and its a 4 run deficit instead of a 2 run deficit
