...who had reeled off 8 QS in a row. When was the last time Buchholz (or ERod for that matter) pitched a QS. Defending Buccholz is flat-out stupid. He just plain flat-out sucks. With Erod, there's at least a glimmer of hope because he's young and coming off injury. Buch can't throw strikes and his stuff is diminished. Time to accept reality.

The Sox are paying 31 million/year for "QS"s? Sweet!

So you're s***ing on Price but defending Buchholz? You know, I've got this bridge for sale here in Santo Domingo.....

It's not an either/or situation.

They both suck and are causing problems for this team right now.

DFAing or benching Buchholz would be stupid right now because there are no better options.

Price still gives you a chubby? Good for you.

Yeah, I still eagerly anticipate Price's starts. I feel pretty good about our chances when he takes the bump. When Buchholz or the random #5 takes the ball, I cringe. I am comfortable with our chances with Wright and Porcello pitching. The top 3 are not the problem. The problem is really pretty clear.

Price has taken his time acclimating, but proclaiming "he sucks" is short-sighted and ridiculous. Buchholz is a guy who you can claim with certainty that he sucks. Price and ERod, not so much.

Price is not the problem, but I'll tell you what. He has also not been the 'ace' that we thought we were getting. I feel pretty confident every time he takes the mound, yet I've been let down by him too many times. He's supposed to be an ace. He has to do better.

He's been with the team for less than half a season. Struggles while adjusting should have been expected.

I'm not saying that he's a sunk cost or anything. He gets more time to become acclimated. I'm just saying as our ace, he will need to do better.

Did he struggle the previous times he was traded?

I seem to remember he was lights out for the blue birds after the trade last year.

He is not the problem. You said it yourself. We are going to win more often than not in games he pitches. He has not pitched to career norms in 3 months of his 7 year contract. Where is the patience that you preach? Price is not this teams problem. Pointing any fingers at him is just misguided silliness.

I'm pretty sure they aren't paying him

$217M to have a 4.50+ ERA.

He is still not the on field problem. I know that Yankee fans are dense, but come on. He is a big budget item, but there isn't a single pitcher on your staff that you wouldn't exchange him for on any given night.

I disagree.

I know sawx fans are dense, but you can't consider paying a pitcher $30M+ a year to have an ERA north of 4.50 "not part of the problem"

Then I am dense, but I look forward to Price's starts. And that is because the team usually wins when he pitches. I thought a Yankee fan could grasp the importance of winning. Losing has really been tough on the psyche of Yankee fans.

No, the dense part is trying to defend a guy making $30M+/yr sporting an ERA over 4.50.

And given the fact that the Yanks are only a few games in back of the sawx combined with back to back sub .500 basement finishes would indicate you know more about losing being tough on one's psyche than any Yankee fan.

Nice try though!
