As far as I know, I have been the only one saying that we should not trade Panda. Everyone else seems to agree with you.

I understand your dislike of the guy, but you, or anyone else, has no way of knowing that he will always stink with this team.

I always thought that his contract was too large, and that there were less expensive options. However, he should have provided us with a significant improvement over what we had at 3B last season. Did you honestly believe that he would not?

We are waiting for him to stop stinking. Let's have a vigil why we wait.

So this is justification for signing the pig?

At the moment, in hindsight, it looks terrible. No one can deny that. But yes, it is justification for signing him. You determine your area(s) of weakness, and you try to upgrade in that area. That's what the Sox did.

Poor execution.

I never thought that he was a good idea. No, I did not believe that he would be a significant upgrade and he has not been. He has remained healthy and that is about it.

He will most certainly NOT become a better fielder as he get older. Especially with all that fat he carts around. To believe so is to deny logic and physiology.

He may become closer to what his career numbers have been. Big f***ing deal. He does not hit for power and worse he does not hit for XBH which is very hard to do in Fenway if you can make contact at a decent rate. He almost never walks.

I just do not see any value in continuing this mistake for 4 more years. Maybe you do but that does not make it a good choice for this team.

I have my opinion and I will continue to state it. Although I don't want to start sounding like Fred. It seems that most of the time Fat Boy screws up it is just ignored and accepted as okay because he is an "upgrade from Middlebrooks".

Since I watch all the games and I am on most GTs I see no reason not to be allowed to call his poor play out when it happens. The real problem is that he f***s up at least once in each game. Naturally you will become bored by my comments.

Maybe, just maybe, it would benefit the Sox for Ortiz to be injured. His contract is vested at 425 PA, so if he doesn't get them, he can be gone

You are new here.

It is not taken well when you speak poorly about Ortiz. I don't care one way or another. Just letting you know how it is here.

IRT defense, Sandoval seems to have a case of Edgar Renteria disease. Renteria went from 11 errors in 2004 to 30 in 2005. Some guys really get messed up coming to Boston.

Well the pitching did not fail so much today.

The offense came up way short this time.

6 hits!!!!! An offensive juggernaut! This team was built to mash!!!!!!!

Get used to it. They guy has become a selfish, arrogant, hot dog

He is the best thing to happen to the red sox. He still has to carry this stupid team even though he's almost 40 years old.

But the infield grass was clearly the problem with the Wreck. Why has Panda's alleged defensive prowess suffered by coming to Boston?

Let me get this straaaight. YOU are allowed to vent about Sandoval, but no one is allowed to vent about Papi? I've got some ocean front property in Arizona

He is more concerned with 500 HR than winning. Otherwise, he would play 1b, he would go against the shift more oftgen, and he might try running to first base

Don't be ridiculous. Ortiz has led us to 3 World Series. Sandoval has been awful for us so far.

Are you trolling us or what?

You can vent about whoever you want. Complaining about papi won't always go over well with others (including me)

You have misinterpreted what I said. I don't care if you rag on Papi. I have done it plenty of times here. You will see that most here love the guy regardless of what he does now because he has been such a big part of the Sox success. Conversely, Fat Boy has done NOTHING positive since being here.

This is what I tried to say to the guy.

Ortiz gets a bye from me. If others want to rag on him, that is their prerogative, but it is not deserved considering his past contributions.

Exactly how I feel. I realize that some of his actions can certainly get on people's nerves and I can see why people would rag on him. I personally give him a pass as well because of all he has done.

You are obviously free to voice your opinion on Panda whenever you want. I never said otherwise, and certainly didn't mean to imply that you couldn't. If I disagree, I am likely to post a response to you stating why I disagree, but that doesn't mean that you can't continue to state what you believe. Just that I disagree.

I don't think anyone here has accepted Panda's play as okay. I don't think anyone here has given him a pass on anything. Quite the contrary, actually. He has received a lot of brutal criticism, most of which has been deserved based on his play this year.

I just happen to think he can turn it around. He may not be worth his contract, but he should certainly be better than what we've seen, closer to the level of what the FO expected when they signed him. If you don't think that's good enough, I respect that.
