It was obvious to everyone after pitch 1 that De Anza cannot bunt. Why does the manager not know that? And having learned it, why does he continue to insist on him trying? Or is winning the game a small thing in comparison to the value of the moral we all learn, which is that everyone should learn to bunt?

Well, we won our one game of the series........ protocol is to lose the next two.

Come on JBJ......Keep it going.....

Just read the rest of the thread. You were there....... How was that????

It was good. I wasn't near any rays fan. So, I didn't have that temptation to punch someone in the face.

Winning is good.

Just not enough of it going around.....

Blows my mind we are pretty much not in the running already......

If E-Rod and JBJ show that they can play this year......... I might even call this year a success......

yes, I like to dream....... but that would be a heck of a strong nucleus to build on with the others.

So you have been drinking?

So you have been drinking?

How do you figure that.......?

Not sure if you think E-Rod and JBJ won't be ok, or you don't believe this year as a success if those two prove themselves???????

I have no idea if E-Rod and JBJ will be a success...... I'm just hoping.....

But if we identify that Betts, Xander, Brock, Swihart, E-Rod and JBJ are playing regularly for the Sox in the following years and live up to the hopes, then this year isn't a total loss. I guess success would be stretch, how about "not a total loss".... and something to build on......

I think I will call them bright spots. I can't get myself to characterize any aspect of this season as a success.

Yes! We won! f*** yeah!

Winning is good.

Exactly how I feel. We just need to be more consistent.

Boooooo this team sucks.

Haha, I know this is sarcasm, but we do have potential to make a run. On paper, this team is very talented.

I'd love nothing better than for them to make an epic run. It hust seems harder to do the longer Papi, Naps and some of the starters keep scuffling. People complain about Panda and Hanley, but they aren't the reason this team is below .500. It also doesn't help when Pedroia is again on the DL and will probably have another injury that lingers for the whole year.

Ortiz is slowing down. There is no doubt about that. Let's keep in mind that he has been a hitting god for years. He wasn't just good or very good. He was extraordinarily excellent. He will put up close to or exceed 30 HRs and 90 RBI again this year. That is not a problem. The reason that we will not go on a run is our pitching -- they are a collection of no-talent no named bums. There will be no consistency. This team has been hitting for a month now and the hitting is still heating up. We will get base runners and score runs. We will be sending Forest Gump's mother's box of chocolates to the mound every game. That equals no consistency.
