Hope they bounce back against a very tough nationals team. It always comes down to pitching. They need to get good starts. Cant wait to see the buchholz era come to an end. He was a homegrown guy but he didnt have the bolas or the mind to be a decent pitcher.

This loss wasn't as bad as it looks. One very lucky guess by Arod on pitch location causes a 7-run first inning. Then we fall a little short of a couple huge innings when we loaded the bases a couple times. We could have easily scored 5 more runs, especially if Bogearts' hit into DP was just a bit more to the left.

It's also not as bad as it looks because it's the 6th game of a 162-game season, but hey, why ruin everyone's panic?

YOTN is right. Its game 6. It's start two for Buchholz and he's been as I think everyone expected, Jekyll and Hyde.

I wasn't too excited about Buchholz' first start, so I'm not going to get too wound up about last night.

Unless he finds a way to be more consistent, this will be his last year in a Sox uni.

It would be a shame, because he's got the talent.

It'll be interesting to see how he does against the O's next week.

The nutjob will probably throw another shut out.

I'm gonna make the prediction that Buch is in a Sox uniform next year. He got lit up last night but he will finish the season with more wins than loses. I'll also go has far to say he will be the #2 next year in front of Porcello and behind whoever they obtain via trade this year or wait until free agency next year. I could see if they keep playing like they are now they hold fast until then and wait until next year to make a flash in free agency and get their ace. But if the price drops on Hamels they will make the move before the deadline in the next few weeks before more teams get in on him.

If the pitching staff can hold things together, which I think it can, the price for any upgrade might get lower but if the pitching staff struggles no team will be making things easy on the Sox.

Right. And RS have their $80million Crawford-esque ace up today, no?

I think Porcello can handle the light-hitting Nats.

The Sox just have to get to Zimmerman.

That wont be easy.

I wish Zimmerman was in a Sox uniform. Hope I'm glad he isn't later on!

Whatever we still won the series. But can they at least keep the game close enough so it's fun to watch throughout???

We did win the series...and we should keep that in mind as well as ponder what the hell we're going to do about Buchholz. This seems to be another beginning of another season of hope and prayer for the guy without the results we would like. Perhaps he simply is not wired to be an ace and has a lot of emotional problems when things go South. I saw it that first batter and I'm sure some of you did too. As soon as he walked Ellsbury, I said oh s***.....then he threw to first base right off the bat while Jacoby never even left the base. Then I said oh s*** again and knew we might be in for a long night. Still, I was buoyed up at how we kept pissing away a lead Friday and yet still came back and won the game on the road.

Mujica is laughably awful. WTF is Farrell thinking this guy should close. Lobotomy for all!

I'll tell you bad Mujica is. He was yanked off the Cardinals roster prior to the 2013 Playoffs after he got the s*** knocked out of him during he Cardinals' pennant run. He then was signed by us and proceeded to blow the first home game we played last season. He pitched s***** all year until we were dead and buried and then pitched fine when the pressure was off. He is pure horse dung, and Farrell needs to have his head examined if he things this guy can close for us....He can't close for us or anyone else.

Think about how I feel right about now. I predicted here and on another board that Buchholz would have a good year in 2015. Doesn't make me look too swift upstairs right about now. OTOH, I will more than be willing to give a mea culpa for my take on Bogaerts last season. He seems to have made the moves needed to become a solid player, but give me another month to know for sure. So far so good......and I would love to give that mea culpa. Keep up the good work Xander.
