In any case the Sox are stuck with the porker.

I'm not buying into the idea that he plays 3rd for one or two years then replaces Ortiz at DH. That job logically should belong to the twat from L.A. since he is one of the best hitters in baseball.

No, I see the Nutty Third Baseman striping over himself and going on the DL before his contract is over.

But hey. Who the hell cares? The Sox can always buy another third baseman.

It seems that 3rd is the new SS. At least for the Sox.

By the way. Sandoval looked pretty good in sprints today.

He has negotiated a career with that body pretty well so far. Ah to still be youngish.

Much babble about nothing really. Everybody knew what we were getting with the signing. Nobody should have expected him to be any different. He is what he is. Considering all of the fatsoes, steroid ripped, short ones and tall ones that have had success, I would expect nothing different from him. He who thinks that you need great mobility to play third base is foolish. good instincts and quick hands. He has them both. I think that we will all be happy with him. He wants to be here! Let him be. "Fat bottomed Girls They Make the Rockin" World Go round."

OMG !!!! I'm not a Queen fan, don't own any of their recordings... but have always liked that song. All my life I've been singing along when it comes on the radio, "you make the rocket world go round." Life is wonderful. When I'm investing time reading internet posters theories of a baseball players stomach size, I find out something useful.

As far as Pablo goes.... I'm not at all worried about his weight because one, weight probably doesn't effect performance as much the younger a guy is (and we have him in what should be his prime years), two, he has proved he can play, and three, there's a good chance he's a first baseman next year, and possibly a DH for most of seasons past that.

The more I read about him the more I like him. We all know how tough it is to play in Boston. He appears to be competent, confident, and happy. Great sense of humor - not afraid to make fun of himself. I really think that we will be happy with him.
