The Sox will most likely need several homers tonight to win. I have close to zero confidence in numb skull Bucholtz.

But hey, GO SOX!!!!

They insist of keeping that miserable and rotten Bradley in the lineup, do they? Chalk us another loss tonight. You heard it here first. A sure loss!!!!!!! Guaranteed.

I wish I didn't have to say that but Farrell and his insistence that Bradley has to play is totally ridiculous on the face of it. I don't care how great he is in the field, he is a total washout at the plate. No power, no real speed, can't bunt, can steal bases, strikes out an inordinate amount of time while we have Mookie Betts who can do all the offensive things Jackie can't do and field out in center more than adequately.

Another bone of contention is Middlebrooks. Farrell, once again muddling along unable to make up damn addled mind, is sitting him again today when he said he needs to play the guy and finally see what he can do. True, he looks like s*** warmed over on the outside breaking ball but that can be overcome with experience which you don't get by riding the pine while some total s*** stinks up the lineup out in CF. WMB can give us some power we badly need while Bradley can give us nothing by heartache every time he steps up to the plate.

I'm torn on JBJ. I absolutely love his defense and if he can just be a league average hitter, he is a 3-4 win player because of that defense. I thought he was turning a corner earlier, but he's back to his old struggles. I'm not sure I'm ready to give up on him yet, but I keep getting more and more discouraged everyday.

Having said that, I love (so far) Mookie. I just can't comprehend why the hell we would call him up, and then only play him 1 of 3 games. That just makes so little sense to me. And then Farrell says that Holt is going to play CF vs tough lefties. Ok, so why the hell is Mookie up?? I'm so confused. Is he only going to play RF against LHP? And if so, where the hell does Craig go?? That's absolutely ridiculous and impedes on Mookie's development. The kid is only 21 years old. He's not a 30 year old veteran who has shown himself to be a backup OF. How they're treating Mookie right now is beyond belief.

And the exact same thing goes for Middlebrooks. Why the hell did we trade Drew? Well, from the mouth of Cherrington, "so that we can see what we've got in Middlebrooks". Well, how do you expect to see what you've got with Middlebrooks if you're not playing him?? It's absolutely ridiculous! Are the plans to only play WMB vs LHP in 2015? Because if not, figure out what you've got so you can address the situation in the offseason if you need to. My goodness. Combine those two things with the way they've bounced Bogaerts between SS and 3B this year, and this has been one of the most atrocious years I've ever seen in terms of how teams have treated player development. It's just an absolute incoherent, throwing the darts at the wall to see which ones play today, disgusting management of the rookies. Absolutely disgusting.

Free Mookie!! Seriously Farrell, wtf. Betts is still learning a new position. It would help if he actually, umm, played. He's better off in AAA playing every day, than once every 2 or 3 days in Boston. And of course the best option is playing every day in Boston where he can continue to learn OF and get experience against MLB pitching. Even more so since he'd be replacing somebody who doesn't currently belong in MLB anyway.

I said earlier in the season that in my opinion Farrell has a lot of trouble making up his mind and is a very indecisive manager. He was that way in Toronto and he was that way last season even though the team covered him for that. Now he is as befuddled as can be and I actually don't think either he or Cherington really know what to do or what they're doing. It has been one clusterf*** after another this year and their insistence of ramming Bradley down our throats is nothing more than stubbornness to try and prove a point that they believe the guy was more than an adequate replacement for Ellsbury. However, all it is doing is showing how stupid the boopsie twins are. Either play Mookie or send him down. He needs to be in the lineup every damn game. He has what it takes.....Bradley doesn't. And if we are going to get a good look at Middlebrooks, damn it Farrell, play him you stupid jerk.

I was just taking a look at some numbers.

Fortunately I remember how to perform basic arithmetic.

Our new "Ace" has allowed 15 earned runs in 17 innings over his previous 3 starts.

OYE.

JBJ's stats are amazing(ly bad). Coming into today, there are 153 hitters with enough plate appearances to qualify for rate stats. JBJ is 10th in K% (28.1%) and 148th in HR% (0.3%). If he continues to play at that rate, it may be the biggest difference between HR% and K% in the history of baseball. I actually checked back thru 1980 and the closest I found was Gary Pettis in 1985 with 24.2% and 0.2% He had 56 SB and .670 OPS, while JBJ currently has 7 SB and .596 OPS (ranks 150th out of 153). There are plenty of players to do worse, but they don't continue to get playing time. With that said, he's sure to hit 2 HR tonight.

Edit: There are others with a bigger pure difference in HR and K rate, such as BJ Upton this year at 30.2% and 1.6%. I was just looking for people over 20% and under 1%.

Glad to see the nickname Clay "Batting Practice" Buchholz stuck. Hopefully he has a good start and someone claims him on waivers.

Fat chance of either happening.

I know i'm in the minority here, but I love Kruk and Schulman. And I also really like Joe Buck. Not sure why, other than it just reminds me so much of the 2004 playoffs. Just some good memories maybe, but I love those broadcasters.

Clay is a senior starter on the roster. LOL

I wonder how hard the Sox shopped him around before the deadline. Theo wasn't interested?

I'm sure they tried hard. trade partners see his ERA was close to 6, and is paid $13M next year. They then back off.
