Bogaerts looks like he is going to piss himself when there are men on base.

His measly 19 rbis highlight that.

Rizzo is completely different now than last year. We have to be patient with Xander and all the young players.

Yes but unfortunately that translates to s***** offense in the short term.

I agree. Get him the f*** out. He has no command and isn't paying any attention to base runners.

Workman became Jerkman tonight and guarantees that Peavy will still be in the starting rotation. Getting swept by the Cubs and at home...A TOTAL CIVIC DISGRACE!!!!!!!

This whole season we have gotten inconsistent starting pitching and s*** offense. I'm sorry, but when you have a payroll like the red sox, you cannot have 2 sub par seasons in 3 years. I don't care if you won a world series last year, you still have to be competitive the year after with the big payroll the sox have. You can't be a 70 win team.

Watch it Big Papi---a couple of the thought police will accuse you of disloyalty and will dispute every word you said. You know what though. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!!!!

Gald to have someone on my side.

You're the type of fan that deserves nothing but 70 win seasons.

Why? Because he tells the truth? Everything Big Papi said was on the mark. The only problem I see is that you and a couple of other people simply cannot stand an uncomfortable truth. We do stink and we should not have two seasons out of three as we had and are having.

I'd take more championships over more playoffs appearances every single time. The goal is championships and there is no better feeling as a sports fan than seeing your team win it all

Jason we stunk in 2012, won it all last year and stink this year. Not all that good but not all that bad either with that title in between. If we come back next year and win a division or, better yet the league title, then I will gladly take one s***** year, one great year, another s***** year and then another good year. However, there is no guarantee of that the way we're playing now.

We are awful this year, this team is a complete s*** show. It is legit painful to watch these games. But you gotta look at the positives. We just won a World Series and this team is pretty young. I still have a lot of hope for Xander, Holt, Betts, JBJ and etc. We aren't doing s*** this year, but there can still be some positives, we need to start with getting rid of useless veterans who don't do anything like Ross, Drew, Peavy and etc and see what we have with these kids going into the offseason. It all goes well these prospects keep progressing, we make some off season moves and compete again next season.

I like xander, but he is giving the sox absolutely nothing now.

In April after the first ten or so games I came out and said that Bogaerts was a possible choker----and you should have heard some of the people around here go off. Well it has been proven that he does choke with men on base.....hitting something like 110 with RISP. That is choking pure and simple. However, with experience that is possible to overcome for gutty and talented players. What is not possible to overcome is when you are mentally done and have your confidence crushed. I still insist that moving Bogaerts to third has been much of his undoing, especially when you have a 135 hitter taking his place, a player no other team made any move f or in the off season. Besides, how many of you saw Bogaerts swing tonight? He is kind of round housing his swing and is constantly outside the ball. He somehow needs to get his swing INSIDE the ball. Hell he is not 2 for his last 47 and 5 for his last 70 something. I do think if they put him back at short he might get his antenna and confidence going. That, again, is also only opinion, but if any of you have a better idea I'm all ears.

Start cutting players. Breslow need his release paper tonight. AJ needs to go too.

I'm not saying cut all these guys, but the following need to be traded or released: Peavy, Ross, Drew, AJ, Breslow, Doubront and of course Mujica

I hope you guys in Boston are about to revolt because this is absolute Grade A ********!!!! A team with this kind of payroll should not be losing to the Cubs for f***s sake!! This is getting past the point of stupidity!!!!!!! DO SOMETHING FO!!!!!!!!

Hell Mr Tibbs, I'm out here in sunny Southern California and I'm ready to hit something.....Hell, where's my dogs, my wife....kidding!!!!! This is pathetic though. We are really s*** warmed over.

Herrera is another guy that can go. I'll admit he's improved since start of the season but he's a utility infielder at best and not a great one

As I observed as early as April Ted, Bogaerts is a choker with runners on base but he could overcome it with experience and confidence. What he will most likely not overcome is the shattering of his confidence with what Farrell did to him by moving him to third and putting the worst hitter in the AL at shortstop, a 135 dud who strikes out about 1/3 of the time and the only reason Drew is in there is because Farrell has this love for him. Talk about managerial malfeasance.

We score 9 runs and lose by 7 runs. You must be kidding!

Didn't hold them when needed. Scoring garbage runs means nothing. Doubront couldn't even get through 2IP.

Everybody should be up for sale if this is their walk year. Lester and Uehara commands the most in returns, this is better than draft picks. Imagine if we could steal Joc Pederson from LA?

This is really unchartered waters for me. Before this, the worst Red Sox season that I had seen in 46 years was 2012. When they made the huge trade with LA and followed that up with the magical 2013 season, I thought that the horror of 2012 was behind us. This year is spiraling out of control worse than 2012. I really can't fathom this on the heels of last year's magic. What was 2013 - an aberration, a perfect dream season? Were all the stars just perfectly aligned? It' s hard to bask in last years glory when the team is embarrassing itself. Only the 1997 Marlins sandwiched a championship between sub .500 seasons and there FO made a mockery of the 1998 team. The Sox are very depressing to watch right now. I think that I will need to pursue a hobby rather than subject myself to this garbage for my mental state. The only summer that I didn't watch the Sox religiously was the 1994 strike season. This is brutal. Edited by a700hitter
