So wheres the proof or theory that says that moving a player to another position affects his batting? Theres alot of feeling going around here disguised as fact.

Youk---that's exactly what it is.....a feeling. Nothing absolute, just belief that some of us are seeing maybe more than meets the eye. Is it possible moving Xander of SS for Drew played with his mind? Could be. Or it could as some others are insisting just a slump, but boy what a slump for baseball's No. 2 prospect going into the season. The best way to put the first belief to rest would be for X to start hitting with authority again.

I've said Bogaerts slump may be more than that because 2 for 47 and 5 for 76 sound like a collapse to me. I'm told Middlebrooks will be ready (haven't we heard that one before) very soon. What do we do then? I'd really like to see Bogey put back at short, WMB take third, Holt in left and Betts in center. I think we might start winning some games and getting more offense with that ensemble, especially if the top guns come through. Sixteen hits and nine runs last night would have won us about 85% of our games this year but this time it was the pitching.

Nine games before the ASB sk---and to me if we are to make any move after that pratfall against the Cubs we need to go 6-3-----and 7-2 would be better.

5 for 76 is rough - so the question becomes if you are a believer that it will get better. I always look at how overmatched Trot Nixon and Pedroia were at various points. Things will improve.

Pitchers have made the adjustment to him and he needs to make his adjustment. When he first came up he walked a lot. That isn't the case anymore. He needs to be more patient and take the walk if that is what the pitcher is giving him. I would be worried if he hadn't hit at all since he has been up to the show. That is not the case. Also, the hitting coach has been out with health issues and that has to have some effect on a young hitter trying to find himself.
