Four suspended as a result of Brewers and Pirates brawl...

I don't think he got off too lightly. People make a big deal about Gomez not running hard and starring at balls he hits and showboating. But here's the thing, if you don't want him to act like a douche and do s*** like this, stop giving up hits to him. His play backs up his showboating.

I've always said same thing to defend guys like Manny, Soriano and etc who like to watch their home runs. You don't want them to do it? Don't give up home runs to them.

Gerrit Cole started this, where the hell is he?

Like he should, Cole was backing up third. He verbally expressed his opinion of Gomez's behavior which was bush league by major league standards. Gomez way overreacted when he threw his helmet at Cole.

So Gerrit Cole started it then, but he gets no suspension. Awesome. Maybe in the future Cole should work on not surrendering triples to opposing batters instead of being a sniveling **** who cries "bush league!!!1" when he's been outplayed.

I love players like Gomez and Richard Sherman. I love how they expose and deliberately violate the retarded pro sports culture and all those milquetoast "unwritten rules" of sportsmanship. And then all the dumb huckleberries start wailing about how they're not gentlemen. It makes my day.

I agree. Cole instigated the whole thing after he got owned. I have no problem with Gomez. He plays his own style and doesn't apologize or back down.

If Cole is the pitcher then he was the one who ignited the confrontation.

I don't know Gomez. But I have no problem with how he watched the batted ball or how he ran the bases. Baseball is entertainment. The players have emotions. Unless a player deliberately embarrasses another player or the game I have no problem with what they do.

I admire Cole's aggressive reaction. Give me a pitcher who has the balls to say, "*******, you were a lucky punk and don't stand there admiring your piss ant drive off the wall like you are Babe Ruth." If Gomez had pulled that against Bob Gibson, Don Drysdale, or Jim Lonborg, he would be sporting a black eye or a cracked skull.

Gomez could have yelled back at Cole or run to confront him...but not cowardly throw his helmet and hide behind a wall of players. His actions and reaction ignited the rhubarb, and he ended up running to safety behind the crowd.

Cole backed up third as he was supposed to. He yelled at Gomez...so what? So what? Cole was being competitive and telling a batter not to be an *******. Good for him. I remember Dallas Braden yelling at Alex Rodriguez for crossing the mound. I admired him for demanding his space. A pitcher needs to be strong and intimidating.
