Farrell got screwed by the 2 writers in Toronto and the west coast writers. Tito has to be one of the worst MOY choices in memory. The Guardians spent a lot of FA money and made a lot of changes off-season that worked out. Tito's game managing has always been mediocre. His strength is with the media and the players--interpersonal. That helped him with the Western media. The East knows better.

The GM of the year --Cherington--is picked by the GMs. The MOY should be picked by the managers and the player awards by the players. Screw the writers--they are too political.

Um, couldn't you say the same thing about the Red Sox? Think about it?

Really? Really? I love Tito and all but in all his years with the Red Sox and 2 WS he never got ONE first place vote. I realize it's voted on prior to the post season but seriously think the BBWAA hates the Red Sox.
I concur. Tito should have been the landslide winner in 2004 and 2007, and Farrell should have had no competition for 2013.

Scherzer and Kershaw take home the AL and NL Cy Youngs. Worthy choices IMO.

No doubt! No brainer there. Glad the right decision was made.

I am creating this to pre-empt award-related sidetracks in other threads. Come in here! Discuss! Rant about how the guy who won should not have won over the other guy! You know you want to.

Fernandez and Myers take the ROTY for 2013. Honestly, I expected Puig, given the hype that surrounded him for the entirety of his first few months in the big leagues. I'm not saying Fernandez didn't deserve to win, (quite the opposite, in fact; I think it was the right choice), but I was definitely surprised that it wasn't Puig.

have to wonder if those couple of blowups involving him swayed the voters at all
