One thing to respect about him, he stood up like a man and admitted it when he blew that perfect game call in 2010. Very rarely do umps admire their screw ups but he owns his mistakes.

Oh, okay. I don't know much Japanese, but I did know the basic translation of that thanks to my fiancee's father. I tried to get him to teach me Japanese curses and this came up and he explained to me that it's used despite it not actually making sense in the context of "f*** you" by people who don't know better. I (and likely he) didn't realize it probably stemmed from this anime, as I've never really watched any.
