Is anyone concerned that Kojii's highfives seem to have a low energy? I hope he doesn't get burned out.

Probably just nerves

I can't believe this network. "Lets put up a slow mo shot of Iggy grinding around the bases as our champagne shot" as if he is ever much on the bases.

There's some hideous bitches in that crowd.

Thank you for robbing the joy of further participation in this GT from me Brennan.

Also, baaaaad GERD

Sorry man, didn't know you were serious. GERD is no joke either, I had a brother in law die of esauphageal cancer recently. At least we won right?

I literally can't sleep for days on end whenever i see a picture that triggers it. I know it's stupid, but it's insanely disturbing.

Nah man I get it, everyone has something that bothers them.

Anybody else think it was weird that Leyland let Iggy bat in the 9th? You'd think he'd want someone with more of a chance to park one and tie up the game.

The mojo is strong within you Padawan. You shall lead us to victory.

Thank you sir. It's a win/win situation though. If I fail, BTR will back me up. I don't care who gets it, just win LOL.

Leyland is not a good tactician. I debated this with Orange Juiced on one of the "sizing up the ALCS" threads. For all the s*** we give Farrell, he's worlds better than a lot of the dregs managing MLB teams right now, including Tampa's super hipster douche.

I was thinking the same thing. Then again, the Tigers have little in the way of power on their bench. They had already used Kelly as a defensive replacement in the top of the inning, and Pena to replace Avila, so he really had nothing to use.

How about Andy Dirks? He's a lefty who would have certainly had a much better chance of getting on base than Iggy.

Agreed 100%. Farrell is head and shoulders better than Leyland. Farrell's made some decisions that have had me wondering what his thought process was but he's good most of the time so I give him the benefit of the doubt and his decisions wind up working most of the time.

Leyland, and the rest of the old school ilk like him, are overrated managers who are terrible at their jobs but get all the credit because they're ancient relics of a bygone era where bunting wasn't an awful idea 9 times out of 10 and "grit" and "hustle" were worth more than OBP.

Perhaps. He's about the only one they had to use. Iggy had good ABs most of the night though so Leyland had to be hoping he'd find a way to get on base and let Torii do something after.

Iglesias had a .071 OBP in the last 15 days before the start of tonight's game. Just sayin'.

I hear ya... other thing is they had already removed Peralta in the top half, so if he drops Iglesias, he has no shortstop if they tie the game. Have to play for the win I guess, but hard to basically give up everything up the middle if they get to the 10th.

I'm watching the Lester/Bogaerts post-game press conference, and it is my first chance to listen to Xander. Considering that English has to be his 3rd or 4th language, he seems to have a good deal of composure and intelligence, and plenty of humility. Everything about the kid is impressive.

One of my Tiger-fan friends (he's a jacksonianmarch-level s*** talker, just not nearly on his level of douchebaggery) heckled the s*** out of me after we lost the last game 7-3. He pretty much guaranteed a "series ending victory" tonight for the Tigers. He said the Tigers would "break our spirits".

I sent him a single message through Facebook (he was obviously offline): "Your tears nourish me".

Ramon Santiago is a better defensive SS than Peralta and a better hitter than Iggy.

Whether we win or lose this game, Farrell should consider dropping Victorino in the order.

You know Ted, I took some crap last winter when I panned the signing of Victorino as a big bad mistake. Well in retrospect, I deserved that because Vic was a stalwart and one helluva player for us this season, hitting in the 290's, clouting about 18 homers, playing the best RF defense in the league. OK, I had it coming. Why I was down on him was what I'm seeing now----that's what I saw out here when he played for the Dodgers the latter part of 2012. Left handed, he was hitting ground balls to the second baseman, right handed short flies to left field.....AND HE DID THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN. What we're seeing now is even worse because he is swinging at the same slow change on the outside corner and missing it time after time after time. Apparently he can't make an adjustment or they have finally learned how to pitch to him. However, my take is don't give up on him. He was a animal in the TB series and he could come back strong. Maybe drop him down a few notches in the lineup, to say seventh and see how he fares there. Do not bench him, but do get Nava back into the starting lineup.

Well done, sir.

You got me there... I got nothing left to play. Not that I ever thought Leyland was a genius or anything close. He's old as dirt and the game has long ago past him by.

There's also the fact that he's injured to the point where he can't hit lefty at all. He looks visibly uncomfortable out there at times. This is nothing like the Dodger days. He has legit physical issues.

I have confidence in the Sox against the likes of Greinke, Wacha, Nolasco, et cetera. I will still be worried about the Dodgers or Cardinals No. 1 (Kershaw or Wainwright), but goddamn will it be nice when the Sox are in the series and we don't have to look forward to Sanchez-Scherzer-Verlander twice each. I hate to possibly be a jinx (well, no I don't, because I'm not, the Sox are awesome), but I expect the Sox in the series and I expect a lot more scoring than the ALCS.

I am very excited to be watching Bogaerts play short for The Sox the next 15 years.!!!!
