As a side note, Matt Moore is going to walk the stadium tomorrow. In September, when the Rays needed him to step up, he walked 20 batters in 29 IP. That's a 6.21 BB.9. And even worse in his final 3 starts, when the pressure was really on. 6.42 BB/9, 5.02 ERA.

The teams do not have to submit their rosters until tomorrow and the Red Sox won't officially reveal their 25 men until then.

 

But lefty Felix Doubront nodded when asked if he would be on the roster. The Sox, sources said, will send OF Jackie Bradley Jr., LHP Drake Britton, RHP Rubby De La Rosa and INF Brandon Snyder to the team complex in Florida to keep working out.

I would actually call them Rays fans, but they only come out around here when their team is doing good or in the postseason. Let's send these little bitches home for good. It is amusing to read my colleagues ripping the s*** out of Maddon and the Tampas, Longoria and Moore and hard not to laugh my ass off because it is funny. Still, that team will challenge us and one thing I think that might help us if we make Matt Moore work his ass off on the mound. He has a tendency to be a mite wild and we have to run his pitch count up and especially do not let the get the jump on us as they did against Texas and Cleveland.

Great points. The Sox have worked the counts against opposing pitchers all year, and I don't expect that to change. They know that the sooner they get Moore out of the game tomorrow, the better. That is how they've won a lot of the games against top notch pitchers like Scherzer, Price, Kuroda and Moore. They are making them work, eventually clasp using them to be wild or to leave pitches right over the heart of the plate. Our great pitching has also clearly helped us, and I fully expect it to stay that way in the postseason. Think about this. Clay Buchholz, an early season Cy Young candidate, is now our #3 starter. That shows you how good Lester and Lackey have been, and we will need those performances if we are going to make a run to the World Series.

Playoff is a crap shoot. The Rays were lucky to win last night game. Guardians had 2 base runner per inning average last night.

I don't know Station..that looked like a pretty typical late season/post season game by the Rays. Tribe never seemed to be in it even with a few base runners. Really does not mean anything for the next series. However I have no expectation that we will just run over the Rays. I expect us to beat the Tampons but ******* Maddon knows how to turn games into dogfights. It is what he does. You can like him for it, you can hate him for it....but that is what he does. Puts good to excellent pitching around solid defense and a few runs here and there and bing bang bong, he has teams frustrated as hell and then on the ropes.

 

However, I just think that this year he will have met his match for a team just oozing the the ability to frustrate the s*** out of you....that being the Red Sox. This Sox team has outmaddoned Maddon all year long and I expect them to do it face to face in the post season. I don't think either team will walk over the other though. Neither team plays baseball that way.
