Cano's stats are somewhat inflated by Yankee Stadium. It's called the park factor, and something other teams have to consider in valuing Cano for their parks. He should get his best price from the Yankees.

 

The same is true for McCann--or any LHd hitter. McCann is worth more money playing in Yankee stadium than, let's say, Fenway Park. Put another way, the Yankees paid a premium to get him. They did the same for Damon years ago.

Maybe some of this is perspective. McCann may not be worth more because park factoring applies. However the Skanks may have been willing to pay him more because he is a LH hitter. But if that is the case, then you would also have to say that the Skanks would be willing to pay more for any LH batter vs a RH batter. That may well be true.

Probably so. However, they need to have some balance in the line-up between LH and RH bats. A LHP might be more valuable pitching in Yankee Stadium and and RHP might be more valuable pitching in Fenway. Lester's success at Fenway is awesome.

Im honestly shocked about the Ellsbury signing with the Yankees. I thank him for his time here and glad the guy got paid, but that being said i hope he has a horrible rest of his career with the Yankees f*** him and f*** the Yankees!!!

As I've said before, it would be foolish for the Yankees not to leverage their local TV revenue advantage to the hilt, as they have consistently done in the past. The LA teams are the only others with such an advantage.
