Who else but the fans of Boston would blow out the loudest cheer of the year the moment their pitcher throws away the game. Then, innings later when this fact finally makes it through their thick skulls, they're left muttering, "f***ing Dempster."

I'm now convinced years of watching these dunderheads play has irreversibly lowered the collective IQ of all Redsox fans. Good thing humans made it out of the food chain or the entire city of Boston would be located between two sesame seed buns.

I still don't understand the whole thing. It was just ridiculously stupid, and it underscores why Dempster is a big loser.

A lot of you seem to be focusing more on Farrell and less on Dumpster giving up 7 runs. Who gives a f*** if Farrell knew about hitting AROD?

Because many of us have already given up on Dempster. I have been posting all week that he should not be starting any longer even now. So his 7 runs are no surprise to me and not a surprise to many of us.

I do agree Bell that it was painfully obvious that Dempster was throwing at A-roid. I actually think that after that second pitch, Farrell should have been on the way to the mound...not Nieves but Farrell.

Honestly I would prefer to think that Farrell's weakness or one of them, his in game managerial capabilities were again on display and he made a judgement not to go out there...I have to think that. I can't bring myself to think that he knew ahead of time....I just can't do it. If he did and I were the GM, his ass would be in my office the next morning and he better be explaining to me what the f*** is going on.

Rubby is not ready for prime time. He's like Bard out there now. Bard was dominant for 2+ season.
He doesn't throw anywhere as hard as Bard did when bard was going good. Bard was hitting 101 on the gun at times and he was regularly 97-99.

And to no one's surprise, a nice 4 hour + f***ing game before the flight to San Fran. Tonight is just a feast of stupidity for baseball and the Sox all the way around.

f***ing Sabathia was walking in runs and in the end the Yankees might not even need their closer to finish us off. Shitshow.
You got that right. I am furious watching this game. We will have 1 more loss than Tampa after tonight, and we will get to go to the coast and have some top pitchers carve up our lineup, especially if Ortiz sits some games.

Just wanted to bring up a stat: era wise, boston is 10th in the al in era vs right handed batters, and we are only in head of very s***** teams and bmore is just behind us.

There was just 2 pitcher who threw harder than Bard from 2009-2011. Chapman and some guy Oakland traded to the Nationals.

On top of everything else stupid about the A-roid beaning this is going to end up a media frenzy with ballplayers being asked what they knew and when they knew it and on and on and on...just what we needed in a pennant race. If I were BC, I would skin Farrell alive because in truth he just hung BC's ass out to dry as well.

Pedroia has really been hot garbage in the 2nd half.

True, but management and pitching is really what killed them.

Gotta love baseball culture.

"Nah, screw the game. We have to let this guy on the other team know that we, the Boston Red Sox, do not approve of his actions. By hitting him! With a baseball! It's the manly thing to do!"

If BC does call Farrell into the principal's office I guarantee Farrell feeds him some line about baseball code and how he wouldn't understand without being in uniform. Pure cheese.

The guy stinks. He has been horrible in July and thus far in August. Opposing hitters are OPSing well above .800 against him in that span and his ERA must be around 6+

And you know what - there's nothing they can even say. Farrell has already denied it. They're certainly not going to say 'in hindsight, it wasn't a great idea'.

This may end up being a very tough night to forget.

You are on a roll tonight. It was just f***ing pointless stupidity by Dempster. As bad as Dempster's control was tonight, I wonder if there is any possibility that it was unintentional.

I wish...no chance

In the first place no Red Sox pitcher would throw inside like that four straight pitches. That is was intentional is a virtual cinch.

I'm not saying this will make A Rod look good, but the last thing I want to see is a rival team HELPING him be productive.

Well exactly. The POS goes on to have a big night.

I have no objection to plunking A-Rod. The timing, however, was moronic.

In that case, it was just colossal stupidity. Our guys turned the game into amateur hour. Dempster has a hard time getting through 5 innings without giving up half a dozen runs. He can't put guys on intentionally.

and making it so obvious was beyond moronic to the point of insanity. You are telling me that ballplayers sat down and thought this out....and that managers and coaches knew or at best sat back and watched it? Gonna take me a while to recover from this one. This kind of stupidity is simply hard for me to just brush off.

I guess that we can look forward to falling out of first place and sleep deprivation from west coast games. Thanks for waking up ARod and the Yankees, Dempster you damn fool.

I think the worst part of watching this game on ESPN was John Kruk's commentary and constant Yankee and A-Roid ass sucking all nite long.

Hell who knows A-Roid prolly has paid him off too. Eat a Cheeseburger and Shut the f*** Up Kruk!!!

Anthony ranaudo has had two good starts at pawtucket, in his first one he was very dominant and in his second one, he let up some hits but didnt let them ruin his outing. Althoufh he did have a tough outing, if ranaudo can have two string final starts, i would like to see what he could do in the rotation,

He was swallowing Arod's loads all night long. Sickening.

Renaudo is too far down the pecking order to get a shot this year I think. Workman should be in the rotation right now and should have been before tonight.

But I am sure that five days from now they will shove Demps out there to fail again.
