Did he say that? I watch Comcast sportsnet earlier tonight Ortiz will sit out a game in San Fran. There is an offday before the Dodgers series.
Tonight's announcers said that Farrell said that he will try to get Ortiz into 3 of the 6 games on the coast.

I wouldn't trust those ESPN guys. The day off is huge here.

Well if you count tonight I make it about five games at least that Farrell has managed himself out of so far this year.

Nothing compares to this one. This was a colossal f***up.

Taz really worked hard there.....really hung tough in a bad spot. Real moment of truth here I think...Rays coming on...ugly road trip except the pitching match-ups are not bad and a game where they have really not shown much maturity. This in a season where they so far seem not to be willing to acknowledge that they are in a pennant race.

OK so does that mean you think Farrell did know about the beaning plan or that he did not know but his in game management has been that terrible outside of the beaning incident?

You can say what you want about Farrell managing the game and the arod beaning incident, but Dumpster could have pitched much better in this game.

Can't tell you how disappointed I am if that is true. I mean really...he is supposed to be the manager of this team...I don't want to hear any of this "player's manager" crap either. That is simply unconscionable both as it relates to making a best effort to win every game and a best effort to protect his own players. Beyond irresponsible.... and suggests Farrell has the IQ of an eggplant...maybe even below 700's standards for managers.

Dempster has been toast for weeks. He should not be tossed out there every 5 days any longer.....then again if the Sox managed the Buch situation better, Dempster might already be relegated to the pen.

Sure he could have. And Farrell left him in too long. I think this is the first time I've been upset at Farrell all year. But this really was a game that got thrown away, a very winnable game.

Even if Farrell didn't know beforehand wasn't it kind of obvious after the first pitch?

A lot of you seem to be focusing more on Farrell and less on Dumpster giving up 7 runs. Who gives a f*** if Farrell knew about hitting AROD?
Not me. No lead is safe with Dempster. If we put up a crooked number, he can't wait to give it back. I am sick of the guy.

Because it was a free baserunner with no outs in the second inning and it obviously fired up the Yankees?

LOL!! That is a very very low bar.

Farrell and Dempster are both going to take a lot of heat for this. It was just a ridiculously risky and badly-timed move. They easily could have tossed Dempster leaving our bullpen to cover 8 innings. Just f***ing brilliant.

Who else but the fans of Boston would blow out the loudest cheer of the year the moment their pitcher throws away the game. Then, innings later when this fact finally makes it through their thick skulls, they're left muttering, "f***ing Dempster."

I'm now convinced years of watching these dunderheads play has irreversibly lowered the collective IQ of all Redsox fans. Good thing humans made it out of the food chain or the entire city of Boston would be located between two sesame seed buns.

Rubby doesn't care about the runner on 2nd and gives him third, and we let Chris Stewart hurt us again. Mo doesn't blow 3 run leads. I hope they get the 4th run so Mo doesn't come in for the save. I am tired of the Mo love fest in the booth.
