Naps gets around on one....thank God.....really had his hands up the bat handle there...probably a good idea for him.

.611 OPS against them entering tonight. Yikes

And s*** defense. I honestly think he was better than his luck last year and he's been good with the bat vs righties this year but his defensive horridness and complete lack of ability as a righty are starting to make me want to see more of Lavs as well as anxiously anticipating the development of Vasquez and Swihart.

You could see them pissing away this game not starting Lester. I just hope this is not the beginning of the end. They clearly are at a crisis point with their pitching.

Dempster will find a way to lose. He always does. He is a master at pitching well enough to lose.

The anemic nature of the Yankee order is helping demps here though. Maybe he gets to 4 or 5. But he is really not throwing any better than he was earlier in the game.

Jumping the gun just a bit on the doomsday prognostications if you ask me.

Hopefully he can limp through a couple more.

We definitely need more runs though. We can't afford to let Sabathia off the ropes like we did with Pettite on Friday.

They need Buch to come back or lester to pitch like he did in April. They need one of those things to happen. Lackey is the most reliable starter right now. Doubs is the next most reliable. They need someone to step up soon.

So we are past the all star break, in an exciting dog fight but holding on to first place in the division, which we've held onto most of the year. Tonight after a bad first innings we are ahead of the Yankees and threatening to win this series..... and nothing but bitching about how bad different players are. Just curious what the s*** could this team do so you guys could enjoy them?

Just the way things are around here. Even the diehard optimist like SFF, me, and RSFFL have our moments.
