Webster stats haven't looked like a pro player, even against Seattle's 4A lineup. What has been up with him?

Not sure, but that's why Farrell only had Aceves pitch one inning. He's planning to start Aceves on Sunday.

They came from behind and pulled it out. Good sign. Aceves finally back. Bradley back. Hopefully to stay. Bradley could be a star next year. Webster needs more AAA time. DeLaRosa needs BP time in Boston. They've got 5 starters in the rotation. What they need is a couple of solid releivers--especially somebody who can help Uehara finish games. Maybe it's Aceves. maybe Delarosa. The FO needs to become more flexible about its young pitchers--slotting them short term where they are needed--starting or relieving. This is a pennant race.

I see TB has won 6 in a row playing at home against the Twins. Price is back and looking good. They are 3.5 out and suddenly a threat.

SoxSport´s thought process has zero consistency. We´ve gone from: "the FO is stupid for getting guys out of their role, and ended up with the Bard debacle" to "f*** roles, this is a pennant race, the FO is stupid for not using guys where they are needed, regardless of whether they´re post-op and need to be stretched out".

I think it´s not the FO who´s stupid here......

LOL he seems like the LCD fan to me...spouting off in reactionary fashion...seeing things differently today than he did yesterday.

Aceves was hurt, that's why he came out after the 3rd. Not because they were planning on starting him. Even if they were planning on starting him, he would have a full 4 days rest if he was going to take Websters start, so pitch count wouldn't be a factor.

I want to see RDLR or Ranaudo get a chance myself

With Aceves and Webster going down to the farm, it means they need another starter.

Perhaps they changed their mind about Workman and want him to start? He's a great guy to showcase IMO. Over the last ten years, the Red Sox have loved trading #5 type starters for key pieces at the deadline. Sure, Arroyo and Masterson have gone back to bite them in the ass, but it makes a lot of sense to trade back end starters because cheap major league pitching is valuable, but not guys you want starting playoff games.
