The other day he said that he had improved his command and his secondary pitches and that he doesn't depend anymore only of his fast ball which still very good since arrived Philly. I guess that be around of such good pitchers like Lee, Doc, Hammels, etc, has helped him to improve even more his stuff.

If Ortiz had pinch hit in the 7th inning like I wanted him to, Bradley would have been available off the bench as a pinch runner because we wouldn't have used an extra outfielder for a double switch and the pitcher wouldn't be batting 6th.

He could definitely score if he wasn't jogging. With 2 out and a ball in play that stays up that long and a miscatch, he should've score.

With 2 out and the runners going on contacts, I was very surprised that we didn't score the tying run. Gomes has the reputation of being a good base runner.

Drew was just rounding third when Brown dove for the ball. I don't think Gomes could have made it from 2nd to home by the time Brown got up and got the ball and threw it in.

 

I agree, it was a bit deceptive. When I saw the ball bounce away, I thought Gomes had a shot. But then the replay from behind Brown made it look like there wasn't much of a chance.

It was deceptive. The ball did have some hang time. If the runners got a good jump, I thought they would have been further along by the time Brown got to the ball. Once it bounced toward the stands, I was just hoping for a fan to touch it.
