I just know Farrell is going to wait till Vic comes back. I would not wait to move Ells out of lead off.

Once he had it worked out, I would move him back up to at least the two hole.

Ells still useless
Two slugs at the top of the order, and just like I said, Ortiz will lead off the second inning.:thumbdown Brainless manager.

Well I don't know about Brainless...stubborn at least.

Not brainless at all. Just giving him more time (and being stubborn). He's probably thinking of when the team was 20-8. None of bitched about Ells then. Time will tell.

Hate managers when are "committed" with useless players. Maybe this is the case. He could perfectly shuffle the lineup.

There were times early in past seasons when Pedey and Ortiz appeared to be "useless". Wasn't the case. Ells does look lost right now.

We'll see.

Whoa Konerko's really fallen off a cliff. Feels like yesterday he was hammering our pitching staff in the playoffs en route to their '05 championship run.

Ells is useless right now. I just can understand why he has to find his groove while batting leadoff. Let him find his groove in the 9th hole.

Yup, not like he is being sub.

C'mon, Doubront is pitching very good ... Won't see this so often, so... Make some freaking runs.

In fact if Ells is thinking about the responsibility of batting lead off, then finding his groove at lead off might even be harder than if Farrell just stuck him down in the 9 hole and asked him to just get himself back on track again.

Also, while I could be wrong, I don't think this is going to fix overnight. Ells swing has too many mechanical things going wrong at this point. It will likely take a little time for him to turn this around.

Ells is jumping at pitches...he is not staying inside the ball and then exploding through it. Looks like he thinks he is carrying an aluminum bat to the plate and thinks he can just flick that thing out there for base hits.

Not sure why is Gomes battiing 2nd

Victorino's out, so Farrell is too lazy to adjust. He just sticks in the sub.
