I have to admit that as critical as I have been of the approach, I really thought they would loosen up a bit staked to a 3 run lead. How do you get a 3 run lead in the first and totally s*** the bed from there on. Staggeringly disappointing and downright scary.

Is there anyone else that would like to grab Rodney's hat and straighten it out. Can we get a rally going.

How dare you! He's honoring his folks by wearing it gangsta style.

Finally, a silver lining!

I knew I set myself up when I posted that, I almost added "and that's hard to do" but it looks like you closed it. At least we were able to set up something and finish it without blowing it in the process.

Naps got an RBI in that last game as well but RBI's have been free falling for him. We really need RBI's from him as Ortiz alone can't get it done. Of course the only way he could have gotten an RBI this last at bat would have been to hit a HR. As disappointing at the RISP output has been, when you are not getting it from your two big power bats or only one of them, you are really in a lotta' trouble.

We lack another bat to pair with Ortiz. We had Youk, Beltre and Gonzalez.

Took the words right outta' my mouth Station.

Lackey is never going to be a serviceable starter in the AL East. He has flashes, but by the 3rd time through the lineup, his stuff and location just isn't good enough to get guys out. Add in the fact that he implodes at the slightest sign of adversity and he's practically useless. I wanted the guy on the team when he was a FA, but I realized since then that he just won't make it here. Dempster is a reach and Doubront hasn't really shown that he can be a starter. Any injuries and we are completely screwed. We need pitch and a big bat to be competitive down the stretch.

Houston has a pitcher, not sure where we get the bat.

Boy that was a somber looking group leaving the dugout.

We were a check swing double away from giving up 0 runs that inning
