Demp vs Happ.

Happ shut us down in his first start, but has a 4.76 ERA in his four starts after that. Time to make that line even worse.

Red Sox line at -127 at Winn.

Blue Jays feast on fastballs. Changeups and splitters all night Demp.

Win.

Well you have to hand it to WMB, he clearly works hard. He ended last season a very iffy defensive 3rd baseman and has started this year solid as a rock. That just does not happen sitting on one's duff.

So I am not sure if we will see big changes in WMB at the plate this year. However if they can ever get him to stop swinging at balls off the plate and get him fouling off pitches on the outer half with two strikes, WMB will turn into a monster at the plate. Might be another off-season's work to get where he needs to be....presuming that he works on this stuff this coming off-season.

I'm hoping the plate approach changes, but there's no question he's better defensively.. Everyone cringed at the thought of WMB throwing across the diamond to Napoli, and from what I've seen so far every play has been right on with those two.

Carp in the lineup? I guess he'll be hitting bomb #3 tonight.

Kind of surprised they would sit Napoli after last night's performance though.

Middlebrooks needs to get his s*** straight.

Just have Dickey pitch to him, he'll hit another 3 bombs again.

It looks like they moved him to DH and are sitting Big Papi vs. the lefty.

I would have noticed that if I had paid more attention to the lineup... :dunno:

I think Dempster shouldn't have a problem tonight. He has struck out a massive 35% of batters he has faced, and the Blue Jays as a team are striking out in 21.4% of their at bats.

I say he goes 6.2 IP 5H 3ER 2BB 9K

Sox win 7-4.

I can't help but notice how insecure Dempster looks every time he starts the game.

Always needs a couple of errors to wake him up, and then he becomes a K machine.

1st innings are can be ragged for SPers. Dempster appears so far to be one of those that struggles a bit in the 1st.
