Bailey back? Funny, I'm sure many of us didn't expect him back till after the ASB. Glad that the bullpen will get one back.

He's probably been throwing on the side and I'm sure he didn't stop running. If he went cold turkey and hadn't picked a ball up in two weeks I'd be more worried. Hopefully it works out. I think they will probably split the closer duties between Bailey and Taz that way Bailey doesn't throw on back to back nights.

I am sure that he has done his side work and running, but game conditions are different. Every movement is sudden and explosive. There is conditioning and then there is game conditioning. I would be tempted to bring him in a low leverage situation in his first coupl of appearances so his adrenaline is not too ramped up.

It probably be good to use him in low pressure spots, but you know how the media is and they will probably run with a closer controversy angle

Bailey needs to stay healthy, because when he has been healthy this year he has pitched well. The Sox bullpen success depends on Bailey being able to effectively close for them.

Exactly. Bailey closing allows Tazawa and Uehara to pitch effectively in comfortable situations. With Bailey closing, everyone else is in their regular role in the pen.
