Masterson really struggles to get lefthanders out. He had the same issue in both his starts against Boston.

Yeah, but he had Gardner, hung the breaking ball, cut the ball off on a play that would have seen Romine gunned out by plenty, then threw the ball into CF. Masterson fell apart mentally there. Regardless, it is surprising to see this team start to hit good pitching

I wouldn't read anything in to Yankees lefthanders hitting Masterson. All lefthanders hit Masterson.

Which is exactly what i'm talking about. They let him settle down and beat him. That's the opposite of hitting good pitching.

 

By the time the game was stopped, he was dealing, and Kuroda was out of gas.

Buch has so much movement on all of his pitches that he can get away with missing his spots a bit more then other pitchers.

Movement or no, pitches belt high down the middle need to be parked. We missed them. Then, he hit his spots and wasn't hittable
